Title: In Character Thread ~ Model 1
Description: Not in any way stolen from ZU!

Lysis - October 2, 2007 11:16 PM (GMT)
I've decided to start an In Character Thread, in order to get things moving in the Vault.

Welcome, roleplayers, to the In Character Thread. Here you can associate with your fellow roleplayers...from the point of view of your characters. You must remain in character at all times. You cannot post any out of character (OoC) comments in your posts. The setting of this discourse can be created by your own imagination. The first person to post will describe where he/she is, and from that you will base your own descriptions of the setting.

Everyone who has an approved character may join the thread; please link to your character in your first post. All posts must be at least two sentences long; we don't want any spam here. This isn't an in character chat it's a thread so treat it as such.

Of course, most importantly, be creative and have fun. Fun is really the main point of roleplaying.

Welcome!

I really like this idea, so I'm going to help get this thing started. Not only am I going to be rping with Ejnar, who can be found in my signature, but I am going to state the plot. Remember, you're going to be rping as though you were actually inside this plot.

You can either roleplay as though YOU were your character, or in normal roleplaying style.

The plot is this.

Your character finds himself/herself/itself in a tall, strange building; on each floor is a different environment. It's up to you to choose!

List of Characters in the RP:

musical zombie: Ejnar

Lysis: Kartaikian Stormcloud

Tacheon Black: Tacheon Black

OoC (for the only time): Sure, I'm in... I'll be using Tacheon Black for now. Here goes...

BiC (for good, apparently): The massive building loomed before me, and I must admit that I felt a little apprehensive... at first. I had heard to much lore about this place that it almost seemed like sacrelige to actually enter it. When I did, however, I found nothing but a small inn, nothing like the interior that I expected. It had a quaint, middle-of-nowhere theme, and I quickly regained my composure.

"Vodka with a twist of lemon," I said in response to the flip of the barkeep's pad.

"You're a bit of a strange site around here, lad. What led you here?" he asked with a hint of mystery, as though he knew and was just checking to see if I did.

"To be honest with you, I'm not exactly sure myself. I'm just here to see what all the hubbub's about."

"Well, enjoy your stay in any case, I was just curious... and try to keep away from the 43rd floor." he poured as he spoke, and I would've been fascinated by the way that he did it without looking except that at the mention of something I should stay away from, my eyes shot up to meet his.

"Why, what's up there?" I inquired, my curiosity getting the best of me.

He chuckled as he handed my my drink and turned away.

Ejnar walked into the building.
It was large.

Incomprehensibly large.
He sighed. Why did places always have to be these looming huge things? He was sure to get lost. Didn't he always? Ejnar chuckled. Of course. He's a Panserbjorn, not some damned compass. Pushing the door open, he padded in and felt a tap on his leg. Looking down slowly, he saw a small child bouncing on the balls of her feet, excitedly.

"You're a bear!" she yelled out. A teddy bear dangled precariously from one arm, and as she talked it would move as well. Ejnar gave a gruff growl.

"Go away." He moved his nose in the direction of some adults, who seemed to be her parents.

"Can I have a piggy-back ride?" she asked inquisitively, her large almond-brown eyes looking innocently at him.

"NO."

Kartaikian looked into his drink, thoughtfully. Well, actually, he looked into his empty glass with a false appearance of thoughtfulness. He had his cloak wrapped around him so that no one would be suspicious of him by seeing the blade at his waist. Of course, the benefit of hiding the blade was countered by the general suspiciousness that surrounds people who wrap themselves in cloaks so as to not be suspicious.

He looked up from his glass as he heard the door open. The man who walked in was slightly taller than Kartaikian, and had fairly long black hair. He had an air of...familiarity about him. The man sat only a few seats away, and ordered a vodka.

The man then talked with the barkeeper for a few seconds about the "43rd floor." Kartaikian spoke up, speaking loud enough for the man to hear.

"They're always warning people about this floor, and that floor, but no one has ever been up there and come back to say anything of it. More than once I've been tempted to check it out myself, but they seem to guard the stairwell with great vigilance." He raised the glass to his mouth, only to remember that it was empty and put it down again. "Barkeep! Another wine."

Tacheon Black - November 7, 2007 02:14 AM (GMT)
The bartender who, in light of company present, was way over his head poured another wine for the cloaked man. Tacheon stared contemplatively at the man for a few moments when a bear sat in the stool between the two, blocking his view.

"Hey," Tacheon muttered, staring the bear down with little effect, "You're a bear."

"I'm glad to see you're not as dumb as you look," the bear growled in return, "but then again you'd cease to function otherwise."

Tacheon didn't really realize exactly what the bear had said for a moment (perhaps proving its point), and even when he did he contemplated the wiseness of starting an encounter with something capable of tearing him to shreds. He washed away those nagging thoughts with some Smirnoff. The bear, placated by Tacheon's sullen silence, chuffed and turned away.

Tacheon looked around the room to ensure that they were alone, save for Mr. Ursus and the bartender, then spoke up so that the cloaked man could hear him.

"Gee, I have half the notion to go up tonight at 23:30 to see what all this is about." he was proud of how cunning and subtle he could be when he wanted to.
