Is it just me, or, what is the point in this?

Seriously.

YEAH, LIKE AMAZING, your screen is now a speaker. But, I think its rather pointless.

I DO think the technology to make flat surfaces into speakers is pretty nifty i.e. walking down Glasgow and H.M.V windows are blasting out tunes.

But, you expect a very short life span for your poor PC screen blasting out bass lines WHILST you continue to use it.

Would YOU buy one of these - if they were reasonably priced?

No. End of story.

Though why would you when you have a couple of perfectly good speakers already? More room? Sure for a little while but it wont last long. At least with the normal speakers you can move them around.

Yeah, that begs the question.... why give up perfectable good - and stylish - speakers for... space?

Its not like you can turn the product into something stylish because... its just a screen. Sheesh, these sciencists are dumb :P

what im wondering is, does the screen vibrate like a speaker? If so, i dont want no vibrating screen. Yeah, this is completely pointless. Like a step back from surround sound.

EDIT: read the whole article. Screen vibrates. Pointless shi,t.

Haha. No.

That's pretty useless. I mean, even for that.

I think it would be good for people who really don't have enough space for speakers. Maybe in a cramped college dorm or some of those other god awful computer desks that give you like, one square foot of work space.

It's all a matter of space. Thank god my speakers are built in to my laptop and not the screen. :) But I would think it'd be cool.
