Title: Save Leopold "Butters" Stotch
Description: Chaos Posse 2.0

Princess Chaos - October 2, 2005 03:46 AM (GMT)
Since my original idea to try and stop Butters torture (or at least let Matt and Trey know that it pisses some people off) was ruined at SPS and turned into a "club/army," I'm starting over.

This is now the Save Leopold "Butters" Stotch Movement (SLBSM or Save Butters Movement for short). Join now and help stop Butters torture!

KNYREW - October 2, 2005 04:50 AM (GMT)

QUOTE (me)
I'm Princess Chaos, the person who originally made the Chaos Posse. I see now that my original plans for it have been ruined. This was never meant to be a "club" or "army". I made it in an attempt to prove that there are more people in the world besides me who don't think Butters should be tortured. I don't even know what the purpose of a "club" or "army" for the characters are, but this was not supposed to be one. It was meant to protest against Butters' torture whenever a new episode airs and to try to convince Matt and Trey that Butters is best when he's just being cute and clueless, and not when he's put through as much pain as humaly possible without killing him.

In short, I'm abandoning the Chaos Posse. I don't care what happens with it, because it's no longer something to be assoiciated with me. Please don't PM me saying "omg i luv buters kan i plz join lol!" anymore. They'll just be completely ignored and deleted. You can all choose someone new to take my place, I don't care who. Just leave me alone about this. I'm starting a new version of the Chaos Posse in a different location, and it will be used for it's original purpose.

QUOTE (some dude from SPS)
aw no, come on don't give up on it. the chaos posse is the biggest and oldest butters group they'll ever be, and it still has potential to produce solid butters backers (heh). people just need some guidance.. hang around and lead by example more often and I'm sure it'll turn into what you imagined. think about it

QUOTE (me)
From what I've seen, the Chaos Posse is full of people who are wierd in the head, the kind who think Butters is sexy and want to marry him or have sex with him. I'll bet that more than half of its members don't give a damn about stopping Butters torture, and are the kind who think the ninja star scene in 801 is Butters' best moment, simply because of the fact that seeing him hurt is funny to them. These are the types of people I wanted to keep out of the Chaos Posse while I owned it.

But what do I care? I don't own it anymore. I've packed up my random items and taken them to a new place, and this sullied version of the Chaos Posse can exist here, and marinate in its own pointlessness.

What's funny is that the post right above this one was made a girl who said she joined the Chaos Posse "for the chance to marry her sweet butters". :P

kaileykorn - October 3, 2005 01:04 AM (GMT)
^ You also forgot to mention that half the members are there for the pizza and were happily passing around slices when you posted your post.

Definitely count me in. Butters is adorable. I hate it when he's screwed over, especially by that fatass we refer to as Cartman. And his parents.

KNYREW - October 3, 2005 07:51 PM (GMT)
Yes, our worst enemies in the cartoon world are Eric Cartman, Chris/Steven Stotch, and Linda Stotch. Our worst enemies in the real world are anyone who finds Butters torture funny, anyone who thinks Butters sucks, and in general just anyone who bashes Butters. (Matt Stone and Trey Parker might just be our enemies in this sense.)

Here are ideal Butters episodes:
-My Future Self n' Me; Butters narrowly avoids being grounded and gets a happy ending. This episode was plenty funny, and it focused on Butters without torturing him. This goes against the idea that "Butters is only funny if he's tortured."
-Christian Rock Hard; Butters once again had a big role without being tortured. Cartman did not succeed in his evil endeavors. This is the way it should be: Cartman's evil schemes should fail, and he should be punished for attempting them. In the end, we saw Butters fart on Cartman, flip the bird at him, and tell him to go fuck himself. It's about time Butters stands up for himself!
-AWESOM-O; Butters tortured Cartman, and he didn't even do it on purpose. He was just being his cute, naive self and Cartman suffered for it as his own evil scheme backfired on him. In the end, Butters deliberately humiliated Cartman, which the fat bastard deserved. This is quite a reversal of the events of other episodes, in which we see Cartman pulling off a prank that causes Butters to be tortured either physically or emotionally.

These are the types of Butters episodes we oppose:
-Jarred Has Aides; Everyone picks on Butters. Butters is guilt tripped into doing something he knows better than to do, and he is punished for having done it. "Kenny would've done it" is used as an excuse to make Butters do things that Kenny would never have done had you not offered him a dollar or more. Sure, Kenny ate his own vomit in Fat Camp, but for a price. Here, we see Butters being forced to eat his own vomit with no reward for himself.
-Freak Strike; More of the guilt-tripping and "Kenny would've done it" crap, not to mention he gets grounded again for something he didn't even want to do in the first place. (And just when it seemed like things would turn out okay for him.)
-Good Times With Weapons; A Butters lover's least favorite episode. Here, we see Butters wander around with a ninja star lodged in his eye; he later gets peed and pooped upon by dogs in a shelter. What does this have to do with the plot? Absolutely nothing. Is it even funny? To some, yes, and most of those people don't even know how to spell. Let's be serious: the Butters torture in this episode was not funny. It wouldn't have been funny even if it had happened to Cartman. (Though that would've been more satisfying as Cartman deserves it.) It was just forced Butters torture for the sake of harming something innocent, and it ruined an otherwise perfect episode.
-Stupid Spoiled Whore Video Playset - Butters' parents at their worst. (Well, along with the fact that his mom tried to kill Butters and both of his parents covered it up in Butters' Very Own Episode.) I thought Matt and Trey had abandoned the whole A story B story thing, but here we have a B story about Butters' parents trying to sell their son to Paris Hilton. This took away from a great Wendy episode, which also brought us the development of Mr. Slave. (Who would only be written off the show three episodes later anyway.) The Butters side of the story was pointless and the episode would've been better if it hadn't happened. (They could've at least given Butters a happy ending and his parents a bad one; they deserve a much greater punishment than what they got for trying to sell their son to that worthless waste of a human being, Paris Hilton.)
-The Death of Eric Cartman; A funny as hell episode, but once again, it was ruined by Butters torture. Luckily, it also contained Cartman torture, but Cartman wasn't tortured near as badly. The Butters torture was once again unnecessary and all it did was take away from a great episode. His parents prove once again how much they suck.

So there you have it. Let's fight for more good Butters episodes! (Hell, even something along the lines of Casa Bonita would be nice. It was a hilarious episode, and Butters wasn't really tortured there, he was just pranked.)

Princess Chaos - October 4, 2005 03:20 AM (GMT)
Okay, here's our battle plan:

Whenever a new episode of South Park is aired that contains Butters torture, we go to South Park Studios and complain. Basically, we just do as we would in the old Chaos Posse. Only now, we'll show no signs of being in a group together. KSWF agreed with me that this would be better. If we act like a group, we'll be accused of being one of those stupid clubs/armies and won't be taken seriously. If we're all seen as several individual unhappy fans, maybe our idea will get through to Matt and Trey.

This thread here will act as a "home base" in a way. We only discuss our actions here, and never on SPS. We might get our posts deleted if mods start to think we've formed a new "club/army".

KNYREW - October 4, 2005 06:50 PM (GMT)
Sounds like a plan.

Seriously though, the whole "Butters, you're grounded for no reason other than the fact that we're horrible parents!" joke has gotten old. It was first introduced in Season 5, drilled into the ground in Season 6, loosened up a bit in Season 7, drilled into the ground again in Season 8, and used once thusfar in Season 9. Meanwhile, someone on the BBS said to me that the whole "psychotic Wendy" thing has gotten old. It was only used in one episode seven and a half years ago. How has it gotten old? Butters torture has been going on for years; it has gotten old. Cartman and Kyle arguing has been going on even longer (the fatass and Jew jokes especially) and has gotten really stale.

But back on topic: PC's plan is great. All we have to do is recruit more members. BUT! Don't go around posting threads on messageboards asking for more recruits. We need to get the people within our own group to join first. I'm sure Niels would be willing to join. Rae and NSFU and Schan will probably also join if we ask them. Anyone know what happened to robertdoc? I'm sure he'd join us if we could get ahold of him.

Schantrac - October 4, 2005 10:57 PM (GMT)
I'm not the biggest Butters fan on the planet. But sure I'll help out. :) The butters torture does get old.

I would be happy to join. :)

coffeeguy9 - October 5, 2005 12:37 AM (GMT)
I'd sure as hell help, but since I'm a mod and one of the things I agreed to was to "Not be biased, be an example to the rest" I don't think I can directly 'Bash'. I might even use the position to help, because I think bashing general stupidity should be set as an example.

KNYREW - October 5, 2005 03:24 AM (GMT)
Cool. Having a mod on our side would be helpful. :)

Two mods if NSFU decides to help.

the village idiot - October 8, 2005 01:06 AM (GMT)
I'll JOIN!

cartman's enemy - October 14, 2005 01:57 AM (GMT)
I'm in.

Princess Chaos - October 24, 2005 01:42 AM (GMT)
Look sharp members! From the looks of this week's new episode, we'll be needed to rant about Butters being tortured. I have my random items prepared! Remember, when Matt and Trey show no mercy to Butters, we show no mercy to them!

KNYREW - October 24, 2005 01:35 PM (GMT)
Also, it's possible that Wendy will be in the new episode, so any and all who are willing to defend her from pointless, out-of-character female stereotyping, prepare yourselves for some major ranting! Let's just hope for the best but prepare for the worst. And by prepare for the worst, I mean get ready to rant if the need arises.

Butters and Wendy must be defended!

EDIT SO THAT NSFU DOESN'T GET MAD: I think our biggest problem right now is that too many people on the BBS are against our cause. Matt and Trey are never going to take us seriously if we have so many people saying that Butters torture is funny and that we should shut the fuck up. If only there was some way to overwhelm them. My strategy is for all of us to gang up on the people at the BBS. Don't make it obvious to them that we're all conspiring together, just pretend that we're all individual fans who are sick of the Butters torture and the fact that he's the whipping boy of the show. Above all, we have to outnumber them in order to have any chance of Matt and Trey taking our cause seriously.

Princess Chaos - October 27, 2005 12:14 AM (GMT)
I'm in need of some major backup at SPS. Everything I say in Butters' defense just gets contradicted by some asswads who keep saying "but the torture is funny and it's Butters' only purpose." They seem to think that just because Matt and Trey keep using the "use and abuse Butters" joke, that that's proof it's not overused and unfunny.

I'm starting to remember why I left the place to begin with. It's not a place where Butters fans are welcome. <_<

KNYREW - October 27, 2005 12:39 AM (GMT)
As a Wendy fan, I felt very welcome there and I was quite pleased. As a Butters fan, I am disappointed with the BBS. I'll still be there to back you up, but we'll need more support. Everyone, we're begging you to join our cause!

WendyandStan4ever - October 30, 2005 12:27 AM (GMT)
I hate when Butters is tortured i love him anyway I'll join I want to fight for good Butters episodes where no torture is involved etc.

KNYREW - October 30, 2005 02:34 AM (GMT)
Welcome to the board! Any defender of Butters is a friend of ours.

Nice name, by the way. I think you and I will get along juuuuuuuust fine. B)

robdoc - November 5, 2005 03:49 PM (GMT)
Already been fighting for the Butters cause for over 3 years, but I might as well officially join this chapter of the movement while I'm here.

Cerisa_Tempest - November 6, 2005 02:49 AM (GMT)
Sorry to post so much, but at this place, I feel I have a lot more to talk about than at SPS BBS, which usually revolves around Wendy-defending and stuff like that.

But that being said, you have another member for your cause, PC. The Butters torture horse has been killed and they keep beating that dead horse to a pulp.

It's about time someone got busy!

You've got me as another supporter for your team. But while it's cool to have a team dedicated to a cause for a favorite character, we must keep ourselves from getting TOO out-of-control.

But then..what happens if everyone else is already too out-of-control for us to handle?

Princess Chaos - November 8, 2005 02:58 AM (GMT)
I just read at SPS in the FAQs section that Butters has been locked in the basement all this time, but he will return. That means he might be in this episode. I'm going to prepare to rant against Butters torture, just in case.

KNYREW - November 8, 2005 05:00 AM (GMT)
We're prepared to defend Butters to the end with you, PC. :)

robdoc - November 8, 2005 12:41 PM (GMT)
You know, South Park is never very big on continuity and stuff, not having stuff carry over from one ep to the next and all- yet why is it that when they do focus on continuity, it always hurts one of our characters? They kept Kenny dead throughout Season 6, then brought him back to never use him again. They kept the continuity of Wendy breaking up with Stan, and that never made her look worse, then that plot made Stan look just as bad last week. And they kept up continuity by dumping Butters as the fourth friend and making him be Professor Chaos- now they're having continuity with this locking him in the basement thing[unless he'll return without an explanation as to how he got out, like with Kenny's final return]Funny how they usually only focus on keeping up continuity in ways that hurt the characters we defend.

KNYREW - November 8, 2005 04:20 PM (GMT)
I miss the days when the show had no continuity. I don't think anything was continuous prior to Season 4 with the whole Mr. Garrison plot and the boys entering 4th grade. (Well, okay, there was the whole thing with Mr. Twig in Season 2, but that was only temporary. And occasionally, they would make references back to other episodes, like in the Flashbacks episode, but it wasn't something that would permanently affect the direction of the show.)

eric pedigo - November 10, 2005 06:22 AM (GMT)
I want to be in the new Chaos Posse, Butters is a total sweetheart that does not deserve to be tortured. Thankfully there was none of that nonsense in tonights new episode "Gingervitus". I loved it when Butters laughed at Cartman, right on Leopold!.user posted image

KNYREW - November 10, 2005 03:48 PM (GMT)
Yeah, that was one of the few funny parts to the episode. Butters is cool.

Consider yourself a part of the Chaos Posse. We'll be ready when there's a sign of impending Butters torture.

Love the banner, BTW.

KNYREW - November 11, 2005 05:46 AM (GMT)
Yes, that is a nice sig. :)

That's probably my favorite Butters pose. It's just so... him. All bashful and cute.

Princess Chaos - November 11, 2005 06:38 AM (GMT)
He's also cute when he says "Yeah..." in Raisins after telling his parents he has a girlfriend. And when he says "That's okay, Eric." after Cartman apologizes to him in The Death of Eric Cartman. Butters is cutest when he acts shy. :)

Thanks to all who complimented my sig. That is from the "Raisins" episode.user posted image

Look alive Butters fans! There's a new enemy at SPS, who goes by the name of "sexyeuropean71." Just take a look at this thread she made.

*WARNING! CONTAINS A PICTURE THAT MAJOR BUTTERS FANS WILL FIND VERY OFFENSIVE!*

http://www.southparkstudios.com/fans/bbs/v...pic.php?t=15587

And she attacked Butters in the Chaos Posse thread.

WHAT?!!! The "Official Butters Cancelling Thread"?!!!. I DON'T FUCKING THINK SO!!!. What the hell is up with that?. Hey P.C., what do you suggest we in the Chaos Posse do about this?.user posted image

Tweeks_Coffee - November 29, 2005 04:48 AM (GMT)
Oh, she'll be banned soon enough I'm sure. Too bad that "Butter's Cancelling Thread" got locked before PC could respond, I was looking forward to her response. Nice work with the mailbox though, that must've cyber-smarted. Than again, I guess "smarting" her would pretty much be a waste of time.

EDIT: v Heh, that was me that said that.

eric pedigo - November 29, 2005 04:58 AM (GMT)
Yeah Tweeks Coffee, it did suck that PC couldn't respond in time. I loved it when that Butters bashing moron asked "Who's PC?". Then somebody said, "you will find out". judging by the response on SPS she not only knows now who PC is. But she knows about the Chaos Posse. TRUE BUTTERS FANS UNITE!!

Princess Chaos - November 29, 2005 05:07 AM (GMT)
Well, if you see anymore Butters bashing by this waste of God's time, or any other Butters bashers for that matter, just post the link here. I'll come in an use my random items. Of course, feel free to make fun of the Butters basher and let them know how stupid they are. Butters bashers tend to be even less intelligent than the common horny Stan or Kenny fangirl, or the kinds that think Cartman should be President of the universe.

Remember, you can never win an argument against an idiot. You just have to make them give up. ;)

eric pedigo - November 29, 2005 05:19 AM (GMT)
I hope this moron does give up. If she gets banned, that would be cool too.

robdoc - November 29, 2005 12:30 PM (GMT)
We need to keep an eye on the last two eps this year- they've only had one episode starring Butters in this run, that's below average for them. They're bound to have him star in this ep or the next to make up for it- even though Kyle's the star of this one, they've gotten away with springing Butters misery behind our backs before. If it's not this one, be prepared until they announce the summary for the season finale.

KNYREW - November 30, 2005 01:59 AM (GMT)
Yeah, they surprised us with Butters torture in Stupid Spoiled Whore Video Playset. The entire time, we were fretting over how Wendy would be portrayed, and while we were relieved to see her portrayed in a dignified manner for the first time since Season 5, our joy was shattered by an unexpected appearance by Butters, in which he got the usual treatment. (Not quite as gruesome as Jared Has Aides or Good Times With Weapons, but still quite harsh.)

Likewise, we were all fretting over Marjorine in regards to the use of Butters and the portrayal of Wendy. In the end, Marjorine was not the episode to fear. The next episode, Follow That Egg, presented us with an unexpected plot involving Stan, Kyle, and Wendy, touching up on the Stan/Wendy pairing that we thought had long since died in Season 7. Here, they built up our expectations--maybe Stan and Wendy would be reunited, or at least the tension between them would disappear. Then they threw an ending together that served no purpose other than to piss off the fans. The ending was unfunny, but Matt and Trey have been known to deliberately piss their fans off at the expense of their show's quality, mostly in recent years. The ending made no sense as it was inconsistent to Stan's character just a few minutes earlier in the episode.

So in conclusion, we must be alert at all times--be prepared to rant about the treatment and the portrayal of all the characters as well as the overall quality of the episode. You never know what they could pull.
