I'm sure we've all looked at a book, or an rp or something and read it and went: 'DAMN! This is GOOD!' But I'm curious.
When it comes to anything, especially an rp in this case. What makes you look at an rp (I'll use Dracomancers for an example), and read the story and then go: 'Wow... I'm gonna sign up for this!' I mean... What captivates you and makes you sign up for it?
I know that's like 10 questions, but I'm very curious. When it comes to an rp, what is it that intrigues you and makes you sign up for it? What does an rp have to have to get you to want to participate in it?
I'll put up my own answer once I can figure it out. But I'm merely curious and interested to see what people have to say. ^_^
I like joining an rp that seems very open, where it feels like any character could immediately pull the entire rp in a different direction and have it work. For example, BMWR. In Bmwr, (the original not this one, which has more plot) all I knew joining it was that there were werewolves and there was a war. That was it. But...as we made our characters, a plot formed..one WE created, and weren't just...given. I think that's what made it great. I introduced my FIRST EVER reptile character Victor, and managed to change the tide of the story greatly, and Raz's character Jade, and ebils crimsonshift did the same. It was amazing.
Now, as for an rp like dragonmancers...i'm also a sucker for reptilian characters, so in that case I couldn't resist.
When i look at an rp, i personally look for a good story, OR a loosey goosey sortof scheme, like anything could happen.
