Title: The Seven Heroes Of Uria: Weapons Reborn

Drazurach - May 30, 2008 07:04 AM (GMT)
The land of Uria was in a time of darkness when seven Heroes of the people rose. Seven allies, friends even, each from a different background came together for the common good. A tyrant had taken the land or Uria in his corrupt fist. The seven heroes fought against the tyrant for many years. There were skirmishes, battles, victories and defeats. Eventually they realised that they would not be able to win on their own, and so they sought the help of the spirits. Each hero returned to the place of their birth and prayed to the spirits who brought them into the world. They each offered their weapons and their lives to protect the land of Uria. Their prayers were answered. The spirits, seeing that their need was great enough and accepting their offering, imbued the heroes weapons with the powers of the elements.

Iris, a princess who turned away from her royal bloodline to help those who truly needed her. Her fans were imbued with the power of air.

Brunax, an outcast barbarian who saw a people in need and came to their aid. His axe was imbued with the power of nature.

Argus, a former pirate who saw how his wrongful deeds affected people, and how he could stop others doing the same thing. His scimitar was imbued with the power of lightning.

Dail, a palace guard who rebelled against the man he was supposed to protect, for the good of many. His glaive was imbued with the power of fire.

Graad, a blacksmith who fought against a corrupt force that had taken his land and torn apart his family. His hammer was imbued with the power of earth.

Misah, a former prostitute turned assassin who saw how her skills could do so much good. Her knives were imbued with the power of poison.

Siria, a healer from a small village who saw visions of much greater things she would help bring about. Her whip was imbued with the power of water.

The seven heroes came together once more, and upon their return a mighty battle was fought. The new weapons of power took many lives, but still the spirits were not appeased. When the battle was won, and the war finally over, the tyrant was thrown down and the land of Uria was returned to the people. It was then that the spirits took the offering of the seven heroes, not only their weapons, but also their lives. None of the seven were ever heard of again from that day onwards.

Nearly an age later. The seven heroes have fallen from legend, into myth, into only the minds of those who had the information passed to them through the bloodlines. Those few people who passed the truth from father to son, from mother to daughter. Now a new threat has arisen to take hold of Uria. The king has died of suspicious causes and his corrupt son; Valgur, has taken control of the throne. In his short reign he has already increased taxes to ridiculous levels and has started sending soldiers to take crops from the outlying farmlands. His excuse is that the people must share with others for the nation to prosper, those who have plenty need to give to those that have little. But there is a rumour spreading that he is using the money and food to hire an army of mercenaries, which he will use to conquer the surrounding lands and make his control complete.

The spirits have seen all that has transpired and have deemed mans need great enough once more. They have returned the weapons of power to Earth, each containing it's own element and the guiding spirit of it's hero. The weapons are now on earth and are searching for their descendants, trying to reunite themselves with their own bloodline. The seven have return and are destined to drive the evil from the land once more.

RULES

God-moders will be beaten to death and banned. If your character gets hit, you don’t have to be bruised or injured all the time, but please compromise and allow your character to lose at some point instead of being victorious all the time. That would ruin the fun for others and also do keep it realistic with the some use of logic. A warning will be sent out first, before being removed if s/he persists. This includes no killing of other’s characters without the user’s consent, so remember to respect other writers.

Detailed posts are preferred. Paragraphs aren’t a must but descriptive posts are much more interesting to read and visualize rather than one-liners.

Romance is allowed to any level, as long as it does not dominate the thread. (If necessary, take it to pm’s) The main genre is action and adventure, swearing is also allowed but the abuse of this will not be tolerated.

Once joined, I expect to see you posting in the thread. If you are not posting often enough, your position will be given away to someone else. If your going to be away for awhile, PM me and add a twist in the story that lets your character leave for awhile. Stick them in a coma or something.

(Half of these rules were stolen from Mina Blades, five souls of akachi thread, cheers Mina)

You can choose to be one of the descendants of the seven heroes who will somehow manage to come across their weapon, in which case you will have to control the spirit of the weapon as well as your own character, no second profile required. You could also be someone working for king Valgur, or the king himself.

Character Name: Amos
Gender: Male
Age: 32
Appearance: http://meiharu.deviantart.com/art/Poiple-40040020
Personality: Amos is pretty laid back most of the time. That is until you enter something he is passionate about. When fishing he can kick himself (and those that work under him) into frenzy, keeping up their morale and getting a full days work out of his men. Amos runs a business, so when it comes to people he is friendly, but secretly cautious of them in the beginning. He honours true friendship though, and puts a great deal of importance on trust and loyalty.
Skill(s): Can run a ship, and do most jobs aboard a ship, can fish.
Descendant of: Argus, Scimitar of Lightning
Weapon appearance: http://machariel.deviantart.com/art/Scimitar-64177485
History: Amos has spent his life in the small coastal town of Brew. His parents ran a small stall in the fish markets, and Amos himself helped aboard their ship from a very young age. As he grew he seemed to always know where the fish would be, and the family began to prosper because of it. Amos’s parents have long passed away, but he now runs a small fleet of ships that have provided him with much business.

Character Name: Zora

Gender: Female

Age: 21

Appearance: (Pic to come – lost it in a move so it’ll have to be redrawn) Standing at 6’ 8”, Zora is a force to be reckoned with. Trained to be a warrior from birth, her form is solid and built for power. But don’t think her large size means she is slow... Her mobility and grace is far greater then one would expect from her size. Her hair is white, cut short on the top and sides, with a long binge that naturally sweep to the right side of her face and a ponytail that reached down to mid shoulder blade. Her violet eyes are highly expressive, bringing truth to the term “windows of the soul”.

Zora’s attire is very much amazonian and made of a soft but durable dark brown leather. Her top is a wrap-around that covers her bouyance. The thin leather cord of it wraps around her abdomen twice before tying off in the back. Her shorts are tight, ending at mid thigh. The hips contain a single slit on each side. In the center of her waist sits a dark silver pendant with the standard of her fallen house. Her boots are practical, made more so for hunt and battle rather then fashion. They come up above mid thigh and have a cord similar to that of her top wrapping three timed around her exposed leg.

Her quiver and longbow hang around her right shoulder while her whip sits on her left hip. She has no room for a sheath for her sword and has taken to carrying the beast across the back of her shoulders with one arm.

Personality: Quite and withdrawn, Zora is still very much troubled by the horrors of her past. She keeps to herself, finding comfort in surviving on ones own then relying on others to help her. But then, she was to be the guardian of her people. True, she had only just turned twelve when the mysterious force gathered on her boarders and destroyed her home, but that does not change the fact that it had been her duty to protect her people. If others could not rely on her, then she would not allow herself to rely on anyone.

There is one friend that she is reluctant to push away. Without the pegasus Nia, Zora very much doubts she would have survived. The duo discovered each other not long after the attack on Zora’s House. Ever since then, the pair has been virtually inseparable. But then, the two also found they shared a special bond since the meeting each other. They are soul mates, one soul placed within two different bodies. Only Zora can hear the telepathic speech of her white fur and feathered friend.

Zora is highly sensitive to the forces of life and the loss of it. The pain and suffering of all life forms saddens her. Though she is a warrior she abhors killing and usually suffers herself after taking a life. Her eyes are often full of sadness, both from that of her past and that of the need to fight. When she can, she will use her natural ability to heal to help another. Still, there is a vicious streak in her that calls for the need of revenge. She will stop at nothing to find and destroy those that killed her family.

Having just arrived in Uria she has no full opinion of Vulgar yet, though so far she is unhappy with what she’s seen. She has stopped the harassment of innocent people far too many times since arriving and may have even left a body or two in her wake. She plans on confronting the man and is currently in the process of finding out more about him and what would be the best route about doing so.

Skill(s): Zora is skilled in the healing arts as well as being a skilled fighter.

Descendant of: Siria, Whip of Water

Weapon appearance: Siria’s Whip of Water – 30” long and has three heads. It’s made of soft deep blue leather that gives the impression of looking and feeling as water. Not exactly her most used weapon, but it’s there if she ever needs it. (Pic to come)

Sword: Kritath - Kritaith – Modeled loosely off of the Brotherhood from FFX, it’s blade alone comes to a length of 5’2”, it’s hilt adding an extra foot. There are few who can wield this massive great sword at all, despite it being somewhat light for it’s size. However Zora’s own larger-then-life-size she can wield it quite easily. The sword itself has no special powers other then the fact that it’s bonded to Zora. (Pic to come)

Longbow – nothing overly elaborate about it at this time. It’s well made, but that’s about it. (Pic to come)

History: - Born in the Castle of the capital city Kas'Haren, Zora’s mother and father were the High Lady and Lord of Kasa-Hara. Bright and attentive, she showed her eagerness to learn very young, which was a good thing too because as heir to the throne she had a lot to learn. Though economics and politics were indeed an important role in Kasa-Hara’s society to her parents it was most important to learn the ways of battle and warfare. What use was it to hold your land if you were unable to defend it? She began swordplay well before she could read and write.

Bright and cheery, everyone loved Zora. She made friends with everyone, including an older boy named Rainn. He had been found the only survivor among the wreckage of a merchant train raid. Rainn claimed to be the son of a wealthy merchant, though everyone believed otherwise. Rainn possessed too noble an air around him to be of common blood. Her parents sent messages across the lands to try and find the boy’s parents. But it was to no avail. Eventually Zora’s parents adopted the boy as their own. The two of them grew close, doing just about everything together and were as were as close as sister and brother as two could get without being related.

On the eve of her twelfth birthday, however, everything would change. Out of nowhere a dark force appeared undetected on the boarders of Kas’Haren. Beasts of claw and fang and soldiers clad in black armour descended on the Castle in the shadows of dusk. So hungry was their thirst for blood they cut into the city folk and soldiers alike, mercilessly and without remorse. They killed all that crossed their path and hunting down those that didn't. Her parents tried their best, emptying the barracks of all trained with a blade, but in the end it did nothing. Everyone fell before the might of the dark force. Eventually even the High Lady and Lord rode out against their enemies.

Hidden in the rafters of the stables, there was one survivor... Zora had hidden, there frozen in terror, as she watched her friends and family marched forth to face the wicked beasts of darkness only to be slaughtered within mere minutes. Even as she watched, she knew her parents were out there… and Rainn who was a captain now as well. But she could not bring herself to move from that spot. It would be a fact that would forever haunt her.

The tide resided as quickly as it had rolled in and when the dust had finally settled Zora finally clambered down from her hiding spot. Kasa-Hara was in ruins, the dead littering the ground. None stirred. There were no groans… nothing to indicate that someone was at least partially alive. The hair on the back of her neck rose up as she noticed not one body was that of the enemy.

She wandered in a numb haze, searching, until she came across her parent's bodies. Like the others, there was no movement, no sound. Gripped tightly in her mother's hand was Kritaith, a massive sword passed down through the family through the ages for so long that it had formed an unbreakable bond with the bloodline. Their bloodline, in turn, had grown to a size that most humans would consider part giant in order to wield the sword with little effort.

Though Zora was part of the bloodline and next in line to carry that sword at her age she had yet the strength to lift it. Failing again in her responsibility, Zora turned and fled, running for the mountains to the south. She ran for days, never looking back, without rest until she could run no more. Finally she collapsed, her body forcing her to rest.

That night her dreams were filled with horror. The air was thick and red, as was the ground around her. Screams were shrill, piercing the very soul of all those with ears to listen. Dark creatures ran rampage, tearing apart grotesque images of people that she once knew. When Zora finally awoke it was with a start, her brow sticky with sweat and her breathe pants of panic. Tears had been flowing freely down her cheeks even as she dreamed.

But her apprehension did not last long. She soon found herself aware of a comforting warmth, masked in a nest of the purest of white feather and fur. She glanced up, more curious then nervous, to find herself looking into orbs of cobalt blue. Sometime during her sleep, a pegasus had wondered across the sleeping form and lain it’s self down beside the child, using it’s body to keep her warm while at the same time protecting her from any predators out for an easy meal.

Or so that's what Zora would believe. Their meeting was more then coincidence: It was fated. From birth these two souls have sought each other out, perfect partners that complement each other to the fullest potential until they were one.

Don't worry, I will protect you, Zora felt, more then heard, the soft voice within her head. Rest now, and recover your strength.

Orpheus the Dark - June 1, 2008 07:31 PM (GMT)
Character Name: Dodge

Gender: Male

Age: 23

Appearance: Wears loose black leather armor, with a silver lined bandoleer made of black leather going over both shoulders. Wears a belt with silver wire designs along it, the wire also being able to be pulled out and used as a garrote. He wears a black scarf around the lower half of his face, covering his mouth, but it doesn't hide the scar that comes from his right cheek, across the bridge of his nose, crossing his left eye, and hiding itself in his silver colored hair. His eyes are a sky blue color, very cold and slightly intimidating, though the left one is lighter colored than the right. His left hand is wrapped in bandages, even his fingers are covered. Wears black boots, but with a softer sole so they don't make much noise. His tessen and kurasigama hang from his belt, the chain of the kurasigama wrapped around his right forearm.

Personality: Very quiet and reserved, but has a strong sense of loyalty to those mistreated by people in power.

Skill(s): Can control the wind (obviously), is also a master strategist, and skilled with assassinations.

Descendant of: Iris, fans of wind

Weapon appearance: Tessen (Fan of Winds) and Kurasigama (a sickle attached to a chain), along with various weapons of an assassins trade.
http://www1.kamakuranet.ne.jp/sankaido/par...201%20syaku.jpg

History: Dodge is actually an illegitimate child from the bloodline of the original Isis, a long descendant. But being a bastard child in a royal family isn't easy. From birth, he was shunned and looked down upon, beaten if he spoke a word to anyone. For three years, from birth, he had been silent, harboring a great resentment towards the pompous family he was born into, who lorded their wealth and power over those lacking. At the age of four, when thoughts of murder had crept into Dodges mind, a man appeared before him. It was the Headmaster of the Assassins Guild. He saw promising qualities in Dodge, and had come to take him away. Dodge went without a thought, knowing his family would not miss him, save for somebody to beat, and he knew that becoming an assassin would eventually leave him a chance to take revenge on those who mistreated others.

For 19 years, Dodge lived the life of shadows. He earned himself the title "Black Wings of Retribution" for he only took missions that involved targets who abused their power or prestige. On the eve of his twenty third birthday, something happened to change Dodge's life.. He was on a mission, a request from an anonymous client to take care of an antique collector who used forceful methods to expand his collection. It was an average mission, completed in a few moments with the sickle in his hand.
All that was left was extraction, but something stopped him. A voice whispering in his mind. It beckoned Dodge deeper into the house. Always one to follow his intuition, Dodge complied. The voice led him into a dusty storeroom. Sitting high up on the shelf, untouched by dust, gleaming darkly in the half light of the assassin's thieves lantern, was a tessen. It was this iron fan that called to him. Not knowing what else to do, DOdge reached up to grab it. Wrapping his fingers around the hilt, a whirlwind erupted, whirling around him, picking up everything that wasn't bolted down or too heavy. A voice echoed into his mind. "Well Dodge, it's been far too long, Glad to finally meet you. I am the Fan of Wingds."

Apocalyptic-V - June 1, 2008 08:45 PM (GMT)
Character Name: Evan Magnus

Gender: Male

Age: Unknown.

Appearance: http://www.gamasutra.com/galleries/visual_...g/lpb7_mage.jpg

Underneath his disguise, for the few that have seen him (like his Lord, Valgur). He has slightly long coal black hair, with a streak of silvery grey on the left side. His eyes are an ice blue, though his right eye has a slit like pupil. In the middle of his right eye is a circle of red. On his right hand on the back is a pentagram sign which constantly glows an eerie red. Sometimes carries a cane with him, but mostly relies on his magic. His nails on his right hand are more like black claws now, and the teeth on the right of his mouth are more demonic and vampiric.

Personality: Cold, calculating and a man of 'science'. Always interested in lore, and demons and demonology. And poisons and things of the sorts. His personality towards Valgur is that he works for the man as his right hand, constantly giving advice or casting spells or doing other bits of dirty work.

Skill(s): All forms of dark magic, some psychic ability with pyrokinesis, telekinesis and telepathy aas well as remote viewing. Seems to have enhanced abilities with athletics, strength and acrobatics as well as speed. He knows all forms of demons, how they work, and who to pray to, and knows many forms of alchemy and poisons.

Weapon appearance: A cane sword called Nero. (picture next to this) http://www.swordsofmight.com/ProductImages...word_Cane_M.jpg

History: Unknown.

2nd Prof.

Character Name: Kenith 'November' Marke Fawkes (descendant of Graad)

Gender: Male.

Age: 419 (looks 22)

Appearance: Fawkes has short, well groomed coal black hair, Amethyst eyes, and very slight stubble along his jaw line and chin. Tall at 6’3”, he has an athletic build to him. Usually wears a sage shamach around his lower jaw and collarbone with black designs on it, along with a normal white dress shirt, a black 18th century English long coat with white and gold designs along the button/sleeve rim area. He also wears a simple pair of navy blue dress pants and black pirate like boots with custom steel toes on the inside. Lastly, he wears brown-coloured reading glasses and white leather gloves. Slightly pale complexion to his skin, and has a silver cross around his neck, hidden in his shirt by a navy tie, and also has a rosary under his right sleeve.

Personality: Fawkes is a charming, calm and calculated individual. Though he is slightly Zen, sophisticated, loves literature and music (especially playing the piano), he is also very angry and cynical. He enjoys spinning tales and acting, and loves to control people through language and manipulation. Another odd quirk is that he’s actually a bit religious, and extremely depressed and lonely in his life. He is extremely loyal and kind to those he knows, respectful to those who gain it from him, and extremely ruthless. Ironically, he lives by a motto: Don’t injure where you can talk, don’t kill when you can injure. Casting himself out, all because of his anarchist thoughts. Those who seek him out these days usually don't know who he is.

Skill(s): Telepathy, Chronokinesis, Vitakinesis, Telekinesis and ‘Ethereal Will’ (the ability to channel spiritual/ethereal energy and make them into projectiles/weapons).
Pandora disease abilities: Increased muscle and bone density, (making his bones much harder, and making his muscles stronger. Therefore he’s about 5x as fast as a normal human and his bones are extremely difficult to break,)
Increased intelligence and learning, memory capability also increased dramatically.
Increased senses and natural night vision.

Weapon appearance:

http://jodysamson.com/images/News/jnews1-10-04/spatha1.jpg

(the ancestral weapon, he calls it Fife.)

History: Was once a renowned thief and spy called November. Once worked for the king. Now lives in a large fortress like home, in the middle of a forest called Thorncrest Hollow, has been rumoured to be dead.

Hope this is okay now! ^_^'

DOWN TO THE WEAPON DRAWING ^_^

Character Name: Seeth'Adrid Barht'Dreth
Gender: Male
Age: His appearance makes it hard to give a precise age, but it is safe to say he is quite old

Appearance: Where elves are beautiful and elegant, he appears to be withered and ugly, a direct reflect how he sees himself. His face has the consistency of boiled leather and combined with his eyes, a golden colour with horizontal slits, gives him an almost serpent-like appearance. It is most often set in a gaunt, sombre expression. He is rarely seen without the hood of his black cloak drawn over his face. Underneath his hood his hair is long and raven black and appears to be coated in a think layer of grease. He wears black-green robes. Standing at 5’8” with what appears to be an unhealthily frail frame his robes, combined with the black cloak he always wears, often cause people to mistake him for being physically weak. Though he may not be the strongest dark elf around, he can at least make an honest attempt in a melee fight.

Personality: Shrewd and intelligent, he values knowledge above all else. He has always had an uncanny ability to know what information to divulge and what not to and does so in a way where the person he is dealing with gets his answers without getting all the information he may possess. Most often times this person knows he is not disclosing all his information and so he is only trusted to a certain degree.

Cool and calculating, circumstances have caused him to become guarded and somewhat cryptic. He often thinks before speaking or acting, though there are the odd times when he will slip. Often times one can trust his judgement, if not his intent. But then, there are very few dark elves that can be taken for their word.

He had long ago learned to control the urge for any type of companionship as well. As ugly as he thinks of himself and how he appears, he has trouble accepting that anyone would want to be with him for any other reason other then to use him for his power and knowledge. He no longer fells the hunger for flesh in lust or in love, a fact that probably left him partially numb as a person.

Skill(s): Martial combat never being a strong point, Seeth is an accomplished sorcerer. While he dabbles in all schools he is particularly strong in alchemy and at some point owned his own apothecary. Sharp of wit and smooth of tongue, he often knows more then even the most informed of people but rarely offers such information freely. Seeth is exceptionally knowledgeable in the way of herbology. His magic often times being his primary source of attack and defence, the only weapon he is really well versed in is his dagger, an item he has carried with him for ages and is very familiar to him.

Descendant of: Dail, Glaive of Fire
Weapon appearance: Got an idea for it… will be drawing it up ASAP

History: His age and origins shrouded in mystery, no one truly knows where Seeth came from. It is believed that he had been abandoned as an infant, his parents fearing whatever curse was upon him, and that he had been taken in by a common family with a kind heart. It is unclear of where he learned his abilities, but it is said Seeth used them to fight his way through the ranks, not wanting to live his life as a slave and finally landed in a trusted position at the former King’s side. For whatever reason though, this was short lived. Not long after joining the King’s council did he die and Seeth disappeared. Some believe he died, but the majority of people believe that it had been Seeth who had either killed the King himself, or was hired by Vulgar to do the deed for him. Beyond that, no one knows anything about him other then the fact that he once owned an apothecary.

Apocalyptic-V - June 7, 2008 08:27 PM (GMT)
The last two weapons aren't precisely my style. ^^''' Sorries... Uhm... I could take it though if ya *really* want me to ^^'

xvcrimsajadevx - June 7, 2008 09:43 PM (GMT)
Hey Raz... I found a picture I drew of an axe some time ago and figured it might be more fitting...

Drazurach - June 8, 2008 04:54 AM (GMT)
If you dont like the hammer I could couple earth with a different weapon of your choice if youd like. Request away. I dont mind you having two characters, I just dont quite like the idea of them both not being... main characters I guess, if u know what I mean.

xvcrimsajadevx - June 8, 2008 05:03 AM (GMT)
No prob... i can withdraw Seeth if you'd like... Or eliminate the weapon and edit him some. I just wrote him up to try and hurry things along. He's more of a right-hand-to-evil type character anyways.
