After years of waiting the SETI transmissions have finally been answered, a scientist taking the night shift in an obseratory was the first to hear the reply and in his excitement notified his superiors right away without checking the signal strength. The signal was coming from earth orbit! The Katarn, a highly advanced species, had picked up on the SETI signals and traced them to their source. Studying the transmissions from earth, they saw the violence, the bloodshed and deemed this new race to be a threat to themselves and the universe at large. With their minds set they launched their warriors to the surface to engage what they deemed to be a menace. The area of first contact came in New Mexico, where the first pod landed in a farmer's field. It had begun, the end of the world as it was now known.

That's his physical shape only, though. He is usually wearing a black trench coat, dark pants, a brown or dark blue shirt, and black shoes. He sometimes wears sunglasses when it is very bright out, as he has an abnormal sun-sensitivity.
History: born with a strange genetic defect that made his eyes sun-sensitive (although his vision is otherwise unaffected) he has been a little bit different from other people. He is a little bit paranoid, and bought a gun after getting a license to carry a concealed weapon. He has a gun-safe at his with a 12-gauge shotgun and a magnum. The gun he carries with him is a 'wallet gun (A gun that fits into a fake wallet, with a hole to put your finger through as well as fire the gun through. Effective against muggers since you just lift your 'wallet' and fire). He's never believed in life on other planets, and is an atheist. He has his own honor code (and even has written a book for himself that he has in a wall-safe along with a good deal of funds for emergencies. The book contains his honor code and information he believes necessary to record) He enjoys taking walks around his block (wallet-gun with him, of course) but usually gets odd looks due to his dark clothing. He's really a nice guy, but few people get to know him because of his appearance and somewhat shaky social skills.
