Long ago...the cube was crafted. Perhaps it had been there forever, perhaps not. Noone knows who...or what crafted it, and yet...it exists. It has continued to exist all this time, and more then this...it has been used. The Cube's purpose is to open doors, to heaven or hell itself. Solving of this mysterious box, calls upon the cenobites...creatures of nightmarish form.
Anyone corrupt, or foolish enough to solve this box is taken to hell itself, and shown tortures..and pleasures...unknown to the senses by the cenobites. They spend an eternity in this, and can never escape....well...at least in most cases....
But just recently...Someone, or perhaps even a group DID escape. And the cenobites are unhappy....

Ok...their are primary goals in this game.
Cenobites are after the undead, and they will do anything they need to to get to the undead.
Humans can have different roles...either helping the cenobites or the undead or opposing either or both of them.
Undead wish to kill themselves...or get people to kill for them different people, because each drop of blood they take makes them just a bit more complete. If they become complete....and the cenobites do not find them....then they will be free to walk among mortal men and have a life again. (they come back from hell skinless...sometimes fairly boneless...and need all of their basic organs from...other humans.)
Here are the three basic classes...and what they are/do.
Humans: They are the simplest. They can open the box...and sometimes wish to if they are corrupt. They don't neccesarily do it by accident...sometimes WANTING to experience the pleaures and pain the cenobites have to offer. They might, for their own reasons, also choose to help the undead...even killing for them. Also a sign that they are corrupt. A non corrupt human is the only truly good character...and they will want to stop both the cenobites and the undead (though they might need to be introduced to what they are) in the end. They CAN work with either side...for a time.
Undead: These are the corrupt individulas who have opened the box...been dragged down to hell...tortured and by miracle managed to escape. How is this done? Blood must be spilt in the place they died. Noone TRULY knew what solving the box would bring, but they opened it, they chose it, and they paid the price. Now...they must take the flesh and skin from other mortals...in order to become human again. But the Cenobites are after them. Undead are 90% of the time actually evil characters, but can seem nice.
Cenobites: These are people who HAVE once opened the box and been dragged down to hell...but sufferred god knows how long of the torture...so much that eventually they became what they are. Considerred angels by some, and demons to others, these creatures have deformed visages...usually showing some form of the torture they were put through. (For example...Pinhead has pins in his head....duh...) They are incredibly difficult beings to actually fight, not being human anymore. They possess incredible powers over the world once they are in it...and can use powers...also...similar to that which they were once tortured from. (For example...pinhead uses trhe hooks that originally cut him...a doctor cenobite used these tentacle things that shot out medical devices) They are relatively neutral...not usually preying upon the innocent. But if you are the one who has opened the box...then there will be no mercy to you, and you will inevitably experience tortures beyond your wildest nightmares. Then again...the box can ALSO put them back. *cough* wink wink *cough*

Personality: Kane is a rude, mean, killing jerk of a guy.
history:Before he died he was a semi-gangster shooting down buildings, and people. One night breaking into a house he found the cube. But the night he bought it he unintentionally brought the cenobites to earth, where he would be horribly tortured for the next 5 years. Although it goes against what the cenobites believe in to kill someone undeserving of being killed, Kane...Really did.

Personality:He once was completely insane, and not much has changed now. He is uncaring, unmerciful, and take pleasures from other peoples pain. He's actually probably one of the least netural of the cenobites...because he'd kill a little girl who didn't even touch the box if he was allowed.
history:Redeye had once been a murdering psychopath, after he found his wife cheating on him. He killed him, the cheater, and everyone in the hotel...eventually going crazy from his loss. He travelled the countryside for a long time, killing anyone, especially couples he met. Then, he heard of the box, and wanted it. He heard the stories and wanted to see if they were true. He bought the box from and old traveler, and did succeed at opening it.
He was taken in by the cenobites, and tortured beyond all reason. His eyes were torn out, as his face was held against a torch. A quarter of his skull had been ripped off, and his lips were stapled to his gums. Half of his face was melted, revealing his skull quite clearly, and now...he is one of those that had tortured him. He works alongside the cenobites, doing to others what had been done to him...and of course giving his own creative twists to things.
