"Angl, are you sure you'll be alright going after the Rainstone?" Irick said, walking to Angl. "I'm sure. I can do this." Angl replied, twisting his sword in his hand. "But you'll be doing this all alone. Stranghill could help you if you need it." Stranghill stepped forward, his daggers in their sheathes. "I'm willing to help, Angl. I may be two years younger, but I'm still capable of fighting." He said, bowing his head. "I'm sorry Stranghill, but this village needs all the help it can get until I get the Rainstone back. I have faith in you." With that, Angl left the village, all the villagers looking on with expressions of hope and sadness at the same time. "Good luck, Angl..." Stranghill said, squatting down. "Hey, it's okay, Stranghill. He just had the village's best interest at heart." Galthran said, kneeling beside him. "Angl is a strong fighter now, he can do this, and he knows that you men need to stay here to help us." Irick put an arm around Stranghill. "Father, I'm a strong fighter too! I may not be a swordsman like you or Angl, but that doesn't mean I can't fight." Stranghill argued. "Please, son, just wait. In two years time, maybe you'll fight too." Stranghill sighed, and threw his father's arm off of him. "Galthran, let's go back to the war game table." Stranghill said, and started walking to Galthran's house. "I'm sorry Captain Irick, but I think he has a point. You're keeping us from doing what we can do..." Galthran followed after Stranghill. "Elayne, why can't they understand?" Irick asked, turning to Elayne, the shy girl who had yet to speak. "I... I apologize." Elayne walked away from Irick, who only sighed and shook his head.
----------END----------
This is the story of a side-story. Hence the name, Gaiden (Japanese for side-story, basically. Usually means a spin-off, which this kind of is, but there's no original story, although it was loosely based off of legaia 2 dual saga [note that Angl and is an anagram of Lang])
This follows the path of Stranghill, Galthran, Elayne, and others, as they discover a secret larger than that of Angl's quest. However, even so, they go unnoticed. There is no fame, there is no fortune, not for the character of a gaiden.
(Names of the characters can be changed if you want to take them. Galthran uses a war hammer, Elayne is a magic-user. So if you want to be either of them, just say so and give them any name you want)
The main plot of this is that there will be a bandit(?) attack on Stranghill's village. Stranghill, Galthran, Elayne, and the other members of Irick's crew (Irick is the captain of the fighting force of Stranghill's village. Which is a group of militia who are being trained to fight on the imperial level.) Suspicion will arise when a single item is stolen from the house of Irck and Stranghill, a scroll passed down from the Olganis lineage.
The plot that Angl is following, is that an unknown man with an extremely powerful enchanted sword stole an object called a Rainstone that has been sustaining Angl's village for years since the Great Drought. Angl has decided to go on a quest to stop him and recover the Rainstone to save his village, and possibly the world.
Angl's village is on the outskirts of the Almin Empire, which holds the largest power on the continent. All this information will play a part in the side-story as well. So be ready.

PROFILE SETUP:

Appearance (opt.):

Bio (opt.):
You can be any character you want, whether they are helping Stranghill or work with the bandits. If you work with the bandits, there's some stuff you need to know. The scroll the bandits steal from Stranghill's family home is a scroll containing instructions on a very special . Irick knows the scroll came with a warning, saying "Do not open until your son reaches 20 years" This warning was attached by Irick's father. Before then, there was a warning attached by Irick's grandfather that said "Do not open until your grandson reaches 20 years" and that continued three more generations down the Olganis family line. The instructions spoke of a secret passage into an underground area of the Almin Empire. However, it said that each of the following generations had a clue on how to find it. So, the bandits plan on kidnapping Irick. The bandit lord is feared by all other bandits except the four bandit riders. The riders are the four warriors directly under the bandit lord, and fear no man or beast.
Note that the bandit attack occurs during the first post. I will have control of all characters during the first post, than all other players have control of their respective characters.
Have at you, everyone.
PROFILE SETUP:
Name: Elayne
Gender: F
Age: 17 yrs
Weapon of Choice: A bow, and her magic.
Appearance (opt.):
She has soft, flowing blond hair that reaches just past her shoulders. Her green eyes are the color of sparkling emeralds. Her skin is fair, and pure, her structure delicate and petite.

Personality (opt.): She's mysterious and shy, only speaking if she has something important to say. Will develop this more as the RP progresses...
Bio (opt.): She was born in Stranghill's village and has known him for a while now. She's never had it easy in her household. Her father never wanted a girl. He looks at her scornfully, thinking her worthless. He beats her and by the time she was ten had crushed her spirit. Some may say that is why she barely speaks, except to the most loyal of friends
Instead of focusing on her life at home he'd travel the forests, practicing magic, and gathering herbs for healing. A shaman woman who is the barkeep at the tavern acted as her mentor in the science of herbs and potions, but most of her magic comes from within. She's developing her telekinetic abilities with great effort, but as of now can do little more than shatter a glass against a wall and create a ruckus.
She lacks much self esteem, never really amounting to anything...
Yet now she sees hope in the desire to fight, to work by Stranghill's side, and for once she thinks she may have found a purpose.
Name: Martyn
Gender: Male
Age: 18 years
Weapon of Choice: http://www.digital-eel.com/scans/images/yat_final_1.jpgAppearance: Martyn is a large young lad by the standards of the day, six feet tall, and just less than two hundred pounds, much of it muscle. Hazel eyes match well with dark brown hair, and his face is clean shaved, mostly because he just can’t build up a decent beard yet in his fairly young age.
Martyn usually wears loose trousers, heavy working boots and a long-sleeved shirt with a light, sleeveless vest. When traveling, he adds a long cloak and a wide-brimmed hat, bags in which to haul supplies, and so forth.
Personality: Martyn is usually very quiet, and upon first meeting him, many discount him immediately as an average man. However, those who spend a little time with him know it is not the case. He is intelligent, humorous, and, where necessary, quite mean.
Bio: Martyn is a farm-boy, raised on a farmstead close by to the village where Stranghill lives, mostly coming to the village only on family business. His friendly, casual nature has won him several friendships in the village, however, especially since his father’s health failing has left him dealing with all the errands in town.
Accepted, buddy. (however, what exacttly is his role in the 'gaiden' What's he doing?)
