STORY:
Mitochondria. Organisms that live inside our cells, and carry our DNA in the nucleus. They Are what feeds our cells, what determine how we look, and what keep us alive. Two years ago, they tried to destroy us all.

"Mitochondria Eve"...an ancient female who lived in south Africa was discoverred to be connected to the mitochondria. But we could not fathom how deep the connection was. Two years ago, "Eve" was reborn in another's body, and she used the mitochondria as a weapon to try to destroy the planet. but that is ancient history now...

Now, it is the aftermath. mankind is finally beggining to go on as it always did. there are remnents of Eve's attack, but most has been washed away. The mitchondria, though they have not disappeared, have been controlled now. Eve herself, has long been dead.

Things should have finally gone back to normal...buit it didn't. In Las vegas, the city goes on as it always did. But in the middle of the desert, there is a secret place, where the mitochondria are being studied...

Can we win a war against creatures that live inside our own skin? The inner Eve will awkaken inside of us once more.

THE RULES:
Nobody's invicible, if you have ever looked a the general character's dicussion thread, you'll know that i really do not like god-modders and bad-ass characters, keep it realistic.

Like i said, keep your characters as realistic as you can, and try to churn out at least a paragraph or more, but if you really cannot help but giving one line for a simple answer, do so, but not too often.

Eve is, as far as our planning is, not avaliable to players, you'll see why when she is intro'ed into the rp. Also, as a note, this is not directly based upon P.E, so characters from the game are no generally used, save for Eve.

Keep in mind, Mitochondria is also present in in-animate objects and artificial things, and so may actually pose as much, if not more, a threat than the obviosu mutants. This may not occur until much later.

P.E Users, that's Parasite Eve if you haven't a clue, are RARE, 2 Good, 2 Evil P.E users allowed thus far, this is subject to change.

THE CHARACTER PROFILE:

THE ROLES:
Evil PE user:(Such as Eve...these people are in fact attached to Eve in some way, and you could say are almost manipulated by her.)

good PE user: (People who can use mitochondria themselves to fight back. they are not as powerful as the ones connected with Eve, not even close. Their powers usually come at random.)

Human: Are in serious trouble when an evil PE user is around. They usually will burn up instantly or turn into something. The surviving humans are slightly more resistant to the M-Virus, but not by much, so avoiding contact with mutants, and Eve herself, would be just spiffy.

Mutant: A creature that has been mutated by mitochondrai. This could be a human or otherwise, but you are AUTOMATICALLY evil. Animals have a 90% chance, in population, to become a mutant, humans have a mere 10% chance to become one. Other humans just melt, slowly.

Scientist: you know a lot about the "M-virus" and have been studying it. If you are this, then you probably are a bit corrupt. You may not be, but you helped cause the near destruction of the world

i've given you literally NOTHING about this character right now for a reason. He's going to be a surprise when he comes. As soon as I post with him the first time, which will be in a little while, you will be given everything you need to know. Until then, let's call this guy the mystery character. he will play a BIG role in the rp though.

Role: scientist (but that can change...)
Appearance: He has a very wrinkled face, and very grey hari. He is always in a lab coat, and is usually working. A bit shabby looking in the hair, has a bit of a "mad scientist" look to him.
Personality: A genereally nice guy, who believes firmly in what he does with just a bit of a gloating edge to him.
Bio:He works in the secret facility studying the mitochondria. he has full access to everything in the buildings, and when he is not studying the mitochondria themselves, he is giving new people the opportunity to, giving them tours around the place. Has good access to everything in the building, and it's defence system. Surely a man this smart is prepared for anything....right?

Name: Dr. Sarah Blair
Gender: female
Age: 28
Role: Scientist
Appearance: Dr.Blair stands at about 5'4", has green eyes, dirty blonde hair cascadindg down her back (due to her ponytail she rarely removes), and thin body.
Personality: The Dr. is a little bit... lets say insane, although she's quite a nice person, her work (and contact) with the "M-virus" often causes her to take on psychopathic traits, losing her contience and feeling a need to see death. Her problem is, she never remembers anything she's done when in these states.
Bio: Dr. Blair was one of the best scientists on the Mitochondria project. She seemed to be able to withstand long periods of time subject to the active virus without severe effects, earning her a very hands-on possition.

She'd always loved her job. She lived for science. But one day while working with her partner Dr. Michael Kinsley she slipped into a strange mindstate and attacked Dr. Kinsley tearing thier entire lab in an attempt todestroy him. The entire time she kept a strait face with a slight glare of boredom.

When finally she came back to her normal self, she was washing blood off her hands in the sink. She turned around to find her partner brutally slaughtered on thier work table. All she could do was scream until her throat ran dry.

Having been alone in the building, no one knew what really happened, until it happened again two days later and again the day after that.

These random outbursts caused her to lose her job.

Without knowing what she'd done, she continues to walk the streets believing she only had flashes of fatigue and blackness.

Age: 27
Role: Mutant
Appearance: He still appears mostly human but the gene spread through his arm, taking over most of his left side. Luckily it did not spread to his brain, stopping before it took control.
Personality: The gene mutation has made him a loose canon, quick to anger and extremely overrun by paranoia.
Bio: Grew up in the city, went into the army at 18. Was stationed in California when the outbreak began. Had to deal with the mutants and their bodies. Was released due to his infection. He's now an outcast.

Appearance: Slender and blond, but toned due to constant martial arts training since she was a small child.
Personality: Witty and good humored. Tries to be optimistic, despite these horrid times.
Bio: Was friends with Hayden before he joined the army. Doesn't know of his mutant transformation. She fights against the mitochondria, using her ability to control it against them.

Appearance: Soft and innocent. Dark hair with beady dark eyes that capture the soul.
Personality: Kind but frightened and alone.
Bio: Her parents were taken over by the mitochondria. She is abandoned, and if someone doesn't find her quick she just might not live to see another day.

Name: Ashley Burke
Gender: Male
Age: 45
Role: Human
Appearance: Tall but also a little stocky, with short, graying black hair, green eyes and a goatee which is completely grayed.
Personality: Generally decent but often gruff, mostly due to the things he has seen in his career, and all the sordid scum he has had to deal with. He is usually quiet but has a little bit of a humorous side which surfaces now and then.
Weapons/Abilities: Major Burke is a trained military officer, with long experience leading people in the field. He radiates a calm, strong king of aura that instills confidence in those around him.

Being a battalion commander, he has direct and indirect access to an impressive array of equipment and weapons, as well as numerous soldiers.

He also effectively commands what is left of the local city police forces.

Normally, he will carry a standard issue Beretta 9mm, and a Colt .45 pistol, as well as a combat knife, and various items commonly worn by soldiers out in the field.

Bio: Major Ashley Burke of the California National Guard is a badly stressed man right now, having to command the Military Police battalion stationed in the city to uphold law and peace as well as helping local forces make sure the city is not overrun by mutants if at all possible, a responsibility which continues every day.

Gender: Male
Age: 22
Role: Good PE User/Vigilante
Appearance: Ryan stands at 5'10, with a slight but solid biuld. He has brown hair, and matching eyes, which he normally covers with reflective sunglasses.
Personality: Ryan used to be a quiet, mild-mannered young man, who worked at a local grocery store for low pay just because it was something to occupy his time, but, that has all changed in the days following the new M Virus outbreak. Now, he is still quiet but it would take some doing to paint him as being a mild-mannered person. The Virus killed his little sister, and so he is angry, to say the least, mostly at those who released the Virus.

His sole mission in life is to hunt down those responsible, and find out if there is any cure in existence, maybe punishing the stupid eggheads while he is at it.

Weapons/abilities: Ryan’s exposure to the Virus has given him enhanced speed, a heightened resistance to physical punishment, and enhanced agility. It is possible he has a little temperature manipulation ability, but he isn’t quite sure.

He owns a motorcycle which he used to reach the city. He also has a backpack, which has his travel supplies in it. For weapons, he carries a Colt .45 pistol, an old M4 carbine and a utility field knife which he uses as both a tool and weapon.

Bio: Ryan has spent the last several days preparing to hunt down the scientist who let loose the M Virus, if any still remain alive, and get the answers he desires.

Role: Mutant. (Feral.)
Appearance: Large black feathered humanoid with no main arms, but has several featherless wings on the hunched-over back, split-open bird-like head on a long neck. Sive yellow slits for eyes and a split yellowish beak. Has bird-like legs with heavy muscles.
Personality: Animalistic, the creature works on basic needs.
Weapons/abilities: Can shape-shift body parts, but has little skill in utilising it's potentially powerful abilities.
Bio: This was once a vulture, mutated to lose it's wings but able to sok up an immense amount of damage before going down.

Name: Giovanni Salizer
Gender: Male
Age: 25
Role: Scientist.
Appearance: Has spiky black hair and a goatee, wears black sunglass over his brown eyes. He typically wears a long white coat whenever at work, over his black trousers and blue shirt. Otherwise, he wears a brown trenchcoat.
Personality: Calm, logical and often quite when working, he is freindly, but rather distant.
Weapons/abilities: He has a penchant for knowing what goes on, he's pretty aware of himself and others. He carries a revolver with him.
Bio: Shall reveal during the rp, good luck in finging out.

wow okay alot of you have already posted this... umm alright so i shall take a moment to briefly outline my active character.

Name: Raven Onyxdaemon
Gender: Female
Age: 24
Role: Scientist/ mutant
Appearance: ~~~~ HUMAN FORM~~~~

Personality: Extremely intelligent and calculating and serious. She distances herself and becomes absorbed in her work, her heart is icy and she closes herself off to the world.
Bio: She infaltrated a scientific lab under pretext that she was a transfer scientist from Milan. Gathering information she wired back to her base in Geveva. Although Miss. Onyxdaemon is a superb scientist, of top ranking she is indeed sadly working within the black market and selling information to arms dealers.
All was fine until one day, something went terribly wrong and she was never the same again.....
Mutant abilities: The powers of telekenisis, rapid speed (teleportation), and feline like qualities, down to the claw.
