Title: fluff changes

Dark Angel - September 14, 2006 03:59 AM (GMT)
As some know our current reasoning for the angel's creation and existence RG realizing this created 3 Scenario's #3 being the best and most accepted is what I present we alter our fluff to

QUOTE
Scenario 3: This scenario is based on the reading I have done recently of the Eldar Infinity Circuits, the background of the Necrons, and the abilities of the Old Ones. It may be highly flawed to begin with, but I'm hoping that it's at least possible to hammer out to make sense.

In this Scenario, the angels are NOT Daemons. Instead, they are a race of mortals. The Old Ones, in shaping life on the planet, also decided to create some measures to combat any unforeseen threat that may ruin their plan for evolution. Therefore, they pushed a section of their evolution to the creation of Angels. Once the beings had completed their evolution, however, they were placed into a stasis of some form, only to be reawakened if needed.

When the Warp Gates Collapsed and the Old Ones fled the planet, one of them (Seraphall) stayed behind to awaken the angels. Though some form of magic/technological ritual, he summoned the host forth, and more or less "programmed" them, so that while they may have a wide range of emotions and personality, their overall purpose is to hold the incarnations of Chaos at bay.

While Scenario 3 makes the angels into mortal beings, I was considering the fluff of the Eldar to further create uniqueness for the angels that no other race would possess. I'd prefer the angels not be able to "breed", like other races, through sexual means. Therefore, I was curious to the concept of soulstones, the infinity circuit, and Wraithlords in the 40k world. I know that it is some how possible for the eldar to save the souls of their warriors and re-insert them into wraithlords, but I'm not 100% on how this occurs. Is there any way to ally this to the warhammer fantasy world?

Though the slight problem is us as "defenders" takes the lizardmen's role, so I suggested these changes to fix up our place.

We were a race that existed before the arrival and were just as primitive as the rest of them the old ones took us and as RG said evolved us and left us in a stasis form to be reawaken at some time by the lizardmen if they ever needed us that badly (basically we were an ace up their sleeve so to speak). A steady process of using a proper balance to magic not too much not too little could awaken us, but when the gates collapsed there was so much raw magic that we were awakening anyways.

I see what your saying but it has been integral to the army in the first place. We were born to defeat specifically the Daemons, the Lizardmen were born to generally administer the world and fight chaos. We have a specific cause (thus the cause for anti daemon rules in first edition of list).

Sorry for not posting for a while I’ve been in over my head as of recent.

Ok GS to what you said I’m not changing anything our races ultimate goal in life is still destroying chaos (more specifically the 4 gods rather than the whole) but how we came to be is different than being born from an old one.

My story for why we hate chaos is this if you got any better ones tell me. When we were reawakened we came to not knowing where we were and what was happening, after small incursions of demons we met with a giant creature of massive size who lead us to fight them in their homeland (this person is unknown to history, we name him Seraphall or “father” as he was believed to be our main deity) as we held them off until sadly Seraphall died with his death we developed a long standing grudge to finish his work and kill of his mischievous relatives (4 main gods of chaos)

Its not watertight I think and could do with some work but I like it
