Title: The Plot Thickens...
Description: Tournament, round one!

Grand Seraphim - April 25, 2006 09:36 PM (GMT)
Arhalaith approached the colossal alter, he knew the only way to stop devastation coming to the forest was to purge the evil that lay in wait within it. Little did he know that these altars, erected suddenly had appeared throughout the world and had attracted more than one. Some came because of visions, others by the promise of gold, and some even for the noble causes that Arhalaith had come, to prevent the destruction of the world itself. None however could have imagined what was to happen to them.

Arhalaith breathed heavily, the forest around him rustled with the sound of life, he placed a hand upon the alter. Arhalaiths head felt faint the world begun to spin around him, gone was the quite of the forest, instead replaced by the gurgling of molten lava. Arhalaith was standing upon little more than a rock, barely a few meters wide surrounded by a steam of molten lava. He almost fell, but regained his footing as his senses returned to him. He seemed surrounded in darkness; there was nowhere to go and no way to leave without becoming engulfed in the lava.

Suddenly there was a loud crash, it sounded like lightning to him. A strange object appeared in front of Arhalaith, suspended in the air by some unseen force, it was as if a portal had been opened. The inside swirled, like a whirlpool; the waves of the portal were broken as the hulking form of a warrior emerged. Clad in sickly pink armour Arhalaith recognised him as a warrior of the north, a servant of the dark G-ds, a lord of chaos…

The lord came to the centre of the rocks and let out a mighty war cry, he screamed “For the Prince of pleasure!” and charged.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The blood dragon’s blade clashed once more with the weapon of the noble night of the whit wolf. He had travelled here to regain his life, and he would not fail.

The knight stepped back and invoked the power of his wolf lord before charging once more at the Vampire. The Blood dragon, Ictogan parried the attack, but the knight followed through with a kick that sent the vampire flying to his back. Ictogan’s head was now perilously close to the edge of the small island that they were fighting on, a rock surrounded on all sides by a seemingly endless drop. The knight ran straight for the downed vampire, bringing his blade to finish him off, but Ictogan still had some fight left in him as he rolled to the side, avoiding the blow, before bringing the black axe he held around to forcibly remove the knights head from the rest of his being.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bran Durak Silver forge slammed his blade into the motionless creature for the eighth time, he nodded. That should see that he wasn’t going to get back up again. The mighty dwarf lord spat. No giant alter to some chaos G-d was going to spring up in his throne room without good explanation! Especially since it had no gold, or anything of worth in it. Bran looked around, great he thought, standing on a rock in the middle of the ocean, bleeding half to death, and not even a barrel of ale to drink!

Bran pulled out his pipe and began to fill it with some unique substance that he always reserved for himself; it was his great great great great grandfather who had apparently discovered it, in the caves underneath Karaz-A-Karak itself. He took a whiff of the stuff and reeled in disgust. It smelled horrific. Brans eyes widened as he looked at the hand holding the weed, it was not the weed that smelt, it was his hand. It looked burnt; cracks appeared all over it, it was crumbling. Bran panicked and dropped the weed; it was happening to his other hand, he could not do anything to stop it as it spread throughout his body. He cursed as his body crumbled to nothing but a pile of rubble; such is the price for slaying a Tomb King…

Matches

AOA vs DA
Victor- AOA

-This match was rather intresting, DA got in two early hits after surviving AOA's first assault nearly felling the elf, however AOA came back with the killing blow in the next round of attacks.

WP vs Baran
Victor- WP

-Yawn. WP got the killing blow in his first set of attacks, no suprise here.

Shooty vs DM
Victor- Shooty

-A pretty even fight (not what i would have expected...) We got to the fifth round before the Blood Dragon brought down the Knight whom seemed to have the advantage from the start. Shooty wasnt able to get off curse of years at all.

Prince Vs GS
Draw

-This was a fun one. After hacking away at the King for five rounds straight the Dwarf Finally killed him, however the Dwarf only had a single wound left. Increadibly the Curse got the better of the dwarf and he turned to ash! Yet again, 4 dispel dice is quite hard to get a spell off against...

Well, what fun the first round. Who knows what secrets the next will hold...

Second round matchups

Wp Vs AoA

DA Vs Baran

Shooty Vs Prince

Dark Master Vs GS

Place your bets people, place your bets.

Your lord and master
GS

Ps: How did we like the fluff?

Woodpecker - April 25, 2006 09:40 PM (GMT)
SEE why you don't name your character after me? I hate myself.

Bets. Hmmm. I kill everyone. Yeah, that sounds good.

I hated the fluff, especially what you wrote for my battle. ;) :P

-Edit-
Oh, and tactics are the same for Round 2. I hate Wood Elves... <_<

Baranthazul - April 25, 2006 09:53 PM (GMT)
Umm. My advice would be to load my dice. :(
---Baran

shootyarmies - April 25, 2006 10:34 PM (GMT)
Here are my thoughts on all of the battles next round.

Wp Vs AoA
WP hits on a 6, but always strikes first. KB will probably decide it, and I expect it to be over in the first round, with high A and T3. I say WP, because AoA only has a 4+ save and no ward.

DA Vs Baran
DA for sure. I dont see the point of mark of slaanesh, but baran has a 4+ save, which is 6+ against DA, and a 5+ ward.

Shooty Vs Prince
Me. Just look at the points. If I can get curse of years off, them his T and save wont help, plus its a blood dragon agains a dwarf.

Dark Master Vs GS
GS. Even if GS doesn't cheat, dark master wont be able to get past T5 and W5 with S4 or 5.

Dark Angel - April 26, 2006 01:31 AM (GMT)
darn cheap KB ohe well the next battle should be mine i hope

and Shooty the mark is so i can take the pendant of slanesshi (back bone of my whole tatic) if i dent need that mark then i would have used Nurgle, or Khorne

the dark master - April 26, 2006 08:26 AM (GMT)
I think I will win totally. I almost kicked a vampirelord, how could anyone stop me?

Oh, and I thought the fluff was coll, but why do you keep typing G-ds instead of gods?

Grand Seraphim - April 26, 2006 02:37 PM (GMT)
Because unless i do it by accident i refuse to acutally write the name.

Its just me and my way :D (i am a devout Jew you have to remember).

I will finish off second round tonight and post results in this thread.

GS

Prince Senlaith - April 26, 2006 03:37 PM (GMT)
Bah, I win a well-deserved victory, then get cut down by some puny manling curse after failing a test on Ld 10, just my luck. Then again, I was fighting the tournament organiser *grumbleriggedmatchgrumblemumble*.

shootyarmies - April 26, 2006 10:02 PM (GMT)
QUOTE (the dark master @ Apr 26 2006, 02:26 AM)
I almost kicked a vampirelord, how could anyone stop me?

Remember, you almost kicked me, I still won.

the dark master - April 27, 2006 07:15 AM (GMT)
Yeah, but you're the meanest fighter in the competition, so my chanses are pretty good against a mummies and elves, dont you think? :D

Haktar - April 27, 2006 05:28 PM (GMT)
i rest my case. i said shooty would win all along....

Ironskintribe - April 28, 2006 10:11 AM (GMT)
Yeah, bringing a vamp lord into the came was pretty mean of shooty. I think he really wants to win because those are the strongest lords in the game.

Woodpecker - April 28, 2006 11:18 AM (GMT)
You know what, shut up about the Vamp lord. I'll kill him a few times, and we can be done with this discussion, okay? ;) :P

GS, when's round 2?

Grand Seraphim - April 28, 2006 12:54 PM (GMT)
Arhalaith lay sprawled across the floor bleeding heavily as his vanquished enemy disappeared into nothingness. The place where he lay was scarred with an outline of another portal. Suddenly Arhalaiths wounds healed and he slowly rose to his feet. Looking around he saw himself now suspended high in the sky, with a drop of miles to the earth awaiting him should he fall. The platform he stood upon was sturdy and forged out of what seemed to be a metal; Arhalaith noticed cracks in the platforms surface. He slowly ran his fingers over them considering destroying the platform. However before he could react another was behind him.

Arhaliath turned to come face to face with another of his kind, a wood elf. He was tall, with long flowing hair, tattoos cover his body and he was clothed in nothing but a green loincloth, he held two blades beside him, he stared straight at Arhaliath. He was a wardancer. “Brother, someone is playing a game with us, I do not know why. Arhaliath spoke “We must work together in order to leave this nightmare”. A mocking smile appeared on the Wardancers face as he raised his blades and began to attack.

The Chaos Lords blade clashed again with that of the Bull Centaurs. The bizarre creature was half man, half horse, but not like the centaurs he had seen and fought with before. The creature reared back, its hooves slamming into the chaos lord’s arm. He was thrown back, landing flat on his back the corrupted skin of the chaos lord burst open and tainted blood spilled forth, scarring anything it touched a sickly pink, the colour of the Dark Prince. The Bull Centaur laughed manically before going in for the killing blow with his fist. Plunging his gauntlet deep into the Chaos Lords gut he expected for the howl of pain to finish it, however it did not come. No noise, but a pendant that the lord wore shone brightly blinding the Bull Centaur momentarily. The Chaos Lord spoke “The Gaze of the G-ds is upon me, I cannot fail them foolish mortal…” The cry of pain did come, but not from who the Bull Centaur expected…

The Dwarf lord stood defiant as he clashed once more with the Vampire Lord. They were both exhausted from the combat. Bran cried out in pain as the Black Axe that the vampire held slammed into his side, the wound began to hiss and the Blood Dragon laughed ready to deliver the killing blow to the weakened Dwarf Lord.

Ictogan approached the body of the Dwarf Lord, now squirming and screaming on the floor of the chamber raising the axe high into the air, he would make sure this would end it. As the axe fell to finish it, the blood dragon felt pain, deep in his chest. He looked down; the Dwarf Lord had fired his rifle straight into the gut of Ictogan. The Blood Dragon began to cough blood, how could he have been so stupid, this was the end, he was dying…

Bran smiled to himself, good old Dwarf armour never failed him yet. He looked around, he was in a chamber, deep under the earth it seemed. He saw a door at one end with a foul symbol of chaos upon it, he ran towards it, he felt light headed, then the world went black around him.

Wp Vs AoA
Victor: AOA
-AoA was able to gain victory in this match with NO killing blows, which was pretty impressive considering only one of them needed to get a six to finish it.

DA Vs Baran
Victor: DA
-Baran got off to a good start, but in the end DA was just to much for him, the Gaze of the G-ds really helped him in this match.

Shooty vs Prince
Victor: (OMFG) Prince
This was just totally messed up, Prince was able to wound him with the rifle right at the start, then Shooty just failed to wound him until right at the end, but by then it was to late, Prince cut him down.

DM vs GS
Victor: DM (grumble grumble...)
Damn it, i was down in two rounds, i was just really unlucky with rolls. Guess he had more willpower than Prince, and the curse didnt get to him. What a shame... Grumble grumble...

Round 3 match ups

GS

Haktar - April 28, 2006 04:35 PM (GMT)
wow...... on the other hand, i expected GS to run all over in the 40k one. Hmmm. Maybe shooty will not be lord and master of all... bets:
P senlaith/Shooty in 1st
Dark master/Baran
GS... the rest.

Baranthazul - April 28, 2006 05:51 PM (GMT)
YAY! I'm 2 for 2 in guesses. My thought here is that Mr. GS will lose this match. His Hight T is no match for S8.
---Baran

Dark Angel - April 28, 2006 06:47 PM (GMT)
yeaa i won 4+ ward saved me and now WP will kill me off unless i can get him first.

p.s. how well did mty sword fair along whti the pendent?

Woodpecker - April 28, 2006 09:02 PM (GMT)
Filthy lier. You know I landed at LEAST 3 KBs.
You're rerolling my failed attempts to wound, aren't you? I can KB with those too...

Strategy against DA is the same. And he will defenitely die.

Grand Seraphim - April 28, 2006 09:34 PM (GMT)
YES! I know! Not one to wound roll came up 6!

Chances of it happening are slim to none, but there ya go...

GS

Prince Senlaith - April 28, 2006 09:45 PM (GMT)
Woohoo! Kinda makes up for failing the test for the curse in the first fight (I didn't mean it about the rigging, honest...).

shootyarmies - April 29, 2006 01:28 AM (GMT)
 Cow&Dolphin
That picture is so random, I just had to do it.

How?

Prince Senlaith - April 30, 2006 08:50 PM (GMT)
Okay, now that the crowing, crying and posting of strange pictures as an expression of disbelief has finished, hurry up with round three!

Grand Seraphim - May 1, 2006 09:25 AM (GMT)
-Just a note, guys, dont get to distracted with the smilies. Here is the next round of results, place your bets. (next one might be a little late, because of exams)

GS

The wardancer sliced the Chaos Lords head from his shoulders. He laughed as it rolled to the floor, some champion of the Dark G-ds he thought. Not even a challenge. The Wood Elf stooped down low grabbed hold of the champions arm and cut off a finger, another trophy for his collection he thought. Excellent…

The Tomb Kings blade lay embedded in the Bull Centaur, but it continued to attack. With nothing to defend himself the mutated child of Chaos tore him apart with his bear hands, and hooves. Laughing as if a man possessed the Bull Centaur brought his hooves down again and again, pounding the Tomb Kings body to dust.

Ictogan watched the weak Wood Elf try and fight him, but he was no match. The curse of years had already taken effect, the Wood Elf was dying.

Arhalaith screamed out in pain, his hands were withering, aeons passing every second. He could not stop it. In one last ditch attack he brought his blade around thrusting it deep into the Blood Dragons gut. The Blade embedded inside the Vampire Lord, but it had done no damage.

Ictogan laughed as the body of his opponent became older and more skeletal like, finally the skin started peeling off, blood was all around him, a few moments later the Wood Elf was nothing but a skeleton. Ictogan brought his foot down on top of Arhalaith’s skull, crushing it. The shards scattered everywhere. The foolish mortal could not contend with the power of the dead…

Round 4 results

WP vs DA
-An almost instant win for WP and his insane killing blow fest.

GS vs Baran
-An interesting game, surprisingly Baran came out on top. I had some unlucky rolls, and he had 4 straight 6’s by another 4 straight 6’s. You figure it out.

Shooty vs AoA
-This one didn’t even reach decent combat! Curse of years saw of AoA before Shooty had to raise a finger.

DM vs Prince
-Prince won this one quite convincingly. DM just could make it past his T + AS.

Woodpecker - May 1, 2006 11:27 AM (GMT)
Hehehehehe.

Grand Seraphim - May 1, 2006 01:24 PM (GMT)
As always, a well structured incredibly well thought out, effective and intresting responce by WP.

:P

Angel of Algebra - May 1, 2006 07:30 PM (GMT)
WTF?? we went through 3+ turns without me getting a single KB?!?!?! I find that hard to believe! especially after the entire last fight going without a single KB too.

AoAlgebra

Haktar - May 1, 2006 08:11 PM (GMT)
je pense que c'est FIXED!

jus sos i dont get into trubble.... a translation:

i think that it is FIXED!

shootyarmies - May 1, 2006 08:41 PM (GMT)
AOA, you still need to hit.

Hak, I dont think thats right. I think you use il for that, and it would be fixe, not fixed.

Baranthazul - May 1, 2006 08:55 PM (GMT)
And how was it fixed if I beat up mr. GS?
---Baran

Grand Seraphim - May 2, 2006 03:35 PM (GMT)
People just cant be happy can they?

Hak, if i was gonna fix the bloody competition i would fix it so I won. Heck, i really acutally dont want shooty to win (no offence shooty) because i think his Character is very OTT in this tournament. Why cant people accept that this is a game using DICE thus, anything is possible depending on the role!

A very angry
GS

Haktar - May 2, 2006 07:25 PM (GMT)
Ah! ive offended somone. ( )

Shooty.... The FIXED in the french was a joke. its called pidgin (ithink) french.

and not, il is he in most cases, and it in some.

:) i was only joking GS, i apologise quite seriosuly if you were offended. Maybe i took it too far.

Grand Seraphim - May 2, 2006 07:32 PM (GMT)
Okay, maybe i over reacted a bit there, but i thought your last post took it a lidddlleee bit to far. (reminds self to annoy Hak with rigging next time he does AOD hehehe)...

A not so angry, and slightly more drunk
GS

Haktar - May 3, 2006 04:36 PM (GMT)
yeh i realised AFTER my post that i may be doing AoDs at some point.

That was my evil twin, hakter.

And his girlfriend, 'Aecteur (shes french)
