Title: Naming the Angelic Capitol (Poll)

Woodpecker - January 11, 2006 12:35 PM (GMT)
Okay, I want this thread to finally conclude the debate over the name of the city currently called Nirvana. Please? :P So, BEFORE we vote, I'm giving everyone one (and only one) week to make their last few suggestions. After that, we can vote and be done with this.

One thing to keep in mind is that we can have other cities besides this one, so the names won't be scraped for certian.
----------------------------------------------------------
-Edit-
I have added the poll. It has all of the more likely choices in it. You can vote for up to 2 options. If we have a tie, we'll go head-to-head. Let us know why you chose what you chose.

Prince Senlaith - January 11, 2006 04:57 PM (GMT)
I'll have a go at this, theres a couple of plausible names that I know:
Solace
Paradise
Utopia
Arcadia
Lumina
Aurora
Are all possibilites. Most of them do come off a thesaurus though :) .

Haktar - January 11, 2006 05:01 PM (GMT)
Pronunciation in brackets
Rym (rim)
Ryhta (ritta)
Shervaan (sharevaan)
Askan (askan)
Liebehimmel (leeberhimmel)
Dieuton (d'yu ton)
And thats all folks!

Woodpecker - January 12, 2006 12:09 AM (GMT)
Added all yours, Hak. Prince, I added the last three. The first three are too common.

Haktar - January 12, 2006 04:44 PM (GMT)
Wow i feel so special.... and i haven't even done anything....
I suggest you all look @ other language for your some names.

humansRpepul2 - January 14, 2006 03:33 AM (GMT)
Hmm, Liebehimmel and Dieuton sound like Brettonian and Empire cities. Askan sounds kidna like the Harry Potter prison...we don't wanna go there. My friend drives a Lumina....

Hmm ,the best I could find were: Dreamland (j/k), Elysium (or Elysia), Canaan, Xanadu (okay, I got bored and looked up pie in the sky).

Wow, this is hard. Good suggestions, but I have not been blown away by anything since Celestia.

Dark Angel - January 14, 2006 04:34 AM (GMT)
i got one and only one

Rayjah

EDIT: or Hanekata (the name is really ironic)

Enoshima - January 14, 2006 10:50 PM (GMT)
Here are some of the things I thought up.

Meradul (u is pronounced like ou in you)
Deyua (pronounced day-shou(ou pronounced as in you)-a)
Veano (vee-a-no)

None of these have any meaning, they are just random words generated by my very strong imagination.

humansRpepul2 - January 14, 2006 11:24 PM (GMT)
Well, all of those are better than Jesusville. I don't think it shoudl be something hard to pronounce, because then people will mispronounce it.

Maybe we should see if Prince has any ideas form his head, since he used his executive powers to veto Celestia.....and we've exhasted the dictionaries and thesaruses of the internet.

Woodpecker - January 17, 2006 12:27 PM (GMT)
I voted for Empyrean and Ayamith. The meaning of Empyrean, plus the fact that it sounds good, makes it my no. 1 choice. Ayamith is second because I just think it sounds good.

Haktar - January 17, 2006 01:34 PM (GMT)
hard to pronounce? what, and some of GWs stuff isnt? cos i can EASILY get my tongue round lizardmen city names....
Liebehimmel and Dieuton are messing round with french and german,
Dieu= god
ton= your

Liebe= life (?)
himmel= heaven

EDIT- i voted for the ones i thought sounded coolest, no other reason.
Aether and Ryhta

Grand Seraphim - January 17, 2006 05:05 PM (GMT)
I think a lot of these would be good names, but the list does need condensing down a bit...

Ironskintribe - January 17, 2006 08:50 PM (GMT)
Hak, liebe is love so love heaven, anyways I am with WP except the opposite of his 2 because Empyrean sounds too much like we are playing up the empire (and Ayamith sounds cool and was created by me.)

Haktar - January 19, 2006 05:53 PM (GMT)
Yep sos bout that language trip..... the list does need to be smaller, we have no clear majority otherwise. Take the top 3-5 after a couple of days

Maedhros - January 19, 2006 07:58 PM (GMT)
I assume WoodPecker meant Capital (as in the 'capital' city of a country) instead of Capitol (currency).

As for voting, there are way too many choices for me. Apathy!

BTW Wood, what's Empyrean mean?

Clavix - January 19, 2006 09:22 PM (GMT)
I'm sticking with Nirvana on my primary vote, and I put Ayamith as my secondary. I still don't think there's anything wrong with Nirvana, and Aether could possibly have some copyright issues, so just to be safe I'm staying away from that.

Grand Seraphim - January 19, 2006 09:35 PM (GMT)
Okay i will start up another pole. It will be one vote, and will only have the ones that already 2 votes + on them.

If we still cant decide we will have to go onto a third round of votes.
