I'm keeping with Nirvana, Ayamith is ok, I like it more to Celestia, and Aether is somethign from Magic: The Gathering.
I like Nirvana mostly because:
-It sounds good
-It saves Prince a lot of work

i say Aether it sounds good and its better than nervania, also what work clavix all it going to be is copy, paste, paste and paste verry little work
Clavix - January 9, 2006 10:28 PM (GMT)
I'm talking about going through all of that writing and picking out all of the Nirvana's and changing them. Can be very hard on the eyes going through that much stuff.
shootyarmies - January 9, 2006 10:30 PM (GMT)
I say Aether, it just sounds best
Clavix: it isnt much work to change, and Aether is latin

Wow, another thread. What have I done.....
Anywho, how lazy would one have to be to think it's such a task to change a few words around? If it were possible, I'd have done it already. Not saying Prince is lazy, just that I'm in agreement with SA.
And I think Ayamith is more MTG that Aether.

I will give this poll a week or so before I close it for good. After this poll the name will be decided unless one can bring up a great reason why it shouldn't be the new name. Thanks for voting.

Ęther
It's actually very easy to change. C and P the entire thing into word. Then use ctrl+F and do find and replace. Type in the words and hit replace all.

^^^ would have been my idea should i have got here first. Oh well.
I vote Aether- sounds best
Clavix - January 11, 2006 01:14 AM (GMT)
Hmmm, guess I was wrong, oh well, I still think Nirvana sounds best, but couldn't there be some copyright issues with Ęther?
Ironskintribe - January 11, 2006 02:05 AM (GMT)
Is Aether used by something else because that is one thing we don't want. To be shut down due to copyright infringement. Get me some details because if it is then we will take it out of the poll and revote.
Clavix - January 11, 2006 03:13 AM (GMT)
Ęther is from Magic the Gathering. I'm not exactly sure about what it is, I have searched the MTG site, but I'll I can find is strategies and cards that have Ęther in the name. I believe that the Ęther is the source of magic in the MTG world or some kind of other dimension in the MTG world (or both). Nonetheless, it is definately a used term in MTG (one online journalist writes a e-colomn called Into the Ęther).
humansRpepul2 - January 11, 2006 03:25 AM (GMT)
Aether is a Latin word. I doubt you can get a copywrite on a word.
Clavix - January 11, 2006 03:49 AM (GMT)
True, but I believe you can get a copyright on a fictional place. Since the Ęther is a fictional place owned by Wizards of the Coast, Inc. and is still in circulation. I doubt if I wrote a story it could take place in Neptune, CA (where the TV show Veronica Mars takes place). Neptune is not a real city mind you. I'm probably being overworried on it, but well, that's me.

Ok, none of these options are good, so I cracked open thesaurus.com and searched for sky. I got empyrean. How muhc better a name can you get for a magestic and amazing city, then empyrean. Or, make it Empirean. So it sounds like empire, but means a heavenly abode? ITs official dictionary.com definition is: "The highest reaches of heaven, believed by the ancients to be a realm of pure fire or light." which really is a great image, if you think about it. I know clavix is.

Sounds good to me but if we keep making new polls every time a new name comes up we will have the forum filled with poems from her til 2025.
Woodpecker - January 11, 2006 12:30 PM (GMT)
Okay, I'm going to lock this. I'll start a thread where we can collect ALL the name suggestions. Once we've collected them all, I'll add a poll.
This thread is now locked.
