Title: [online battle] Me vs. the angels
Description: I need an opponent

Enoshima - January 7, 2006 06:48 PM (GMT)
I challenge someone here to an online battle.
I'll be using lizardmen, you ofcourse angels, it is still playtesting.

(IMO it is a good idea to give online battles the tag [online battle])

It will be a 2000 point battle.
the "how to" is posted here
Make your list and post it here. I have also made a list.

The best way to sort out problems in the online battling system is to actually do it so you really get every problem out.

I was thinking of a gridded map.
Due to the size of a standard grid that fits in microsoft word (63x48) I was thinking of using a field of 40x40, with 2inch by 2inch squares.

We could then add a specific coordinate for within the square (and an angle if it is needed).

I already made a preview in word I named the top (from left to right) a-z and then ab-bc-cd until op.
Top to bottom is just 1 through 40.

Everything would be measured from a specific corner (front left for example)

A specific coordinate could then be [g,35] [1.5,1] 45 degree angle
the 45 degree angle being this:

The red dot is the point from the coordinates.

The angle can be anywhere between 0 and 360, the player starting at the bottom has everything standard at a 90 degree angle, the top player 270.

Total base size also needs to be noted, but that is just simply writing it down.

The gridded field might be a bit confusing at first, but I believe it to be really helpfull when noting where every unit is.

Hold on, hold on, hold on. This idea still needs a lot of work. Don't just dive right into it, okay? Can you guys hold off for at least a few days so that we can do more work on this?

I agree that everyone needs to be on one page if we are going to do this so I say that we look from every angle at how to do this well so that we can get games done easily and efficiantly.

Ok, I'll wait.

I was just thinking the best way to get flaws out would be to actually try it.

yeah i agree with WP, and 2000pt may be a bit large for a first game whenever i play a new army i always play 1-5 500pt battle usually with variant lists until i break the army in and get used to different unit types then i start on 1000 point battles and then once i've got enough expewrience with the army i start on 2000 point battles, never get a toddler to jump in a the deep end (just a comparison, no offence intended Enosh)

You got a point there.
I never even thought about that.
Since I know my army (lizardmen) very good, I never even thought about the other side.

anyways, when I started this topic I was way too early, can a mod close this, since it's gone OT and the topic itself is useless.
