Ok, I have another idea for fluff for a new unit.

Like the last time (with the half evil, half good angel thing) I post the fluff idea first to see if it even fits in the angels army.


Here's the idea.

There is a type of crystal that affects the souls of dead angels in such a way that they get a tiny bit of grip on the world of the living.

I'm thinking of 2 units here, one is a group of angels who carry one of those crystals, the crystal would be a warmachine (fires like a sonethrower or something similar). The angels would be slowed down by the engine in such a way that they can't fly anymore until the crystal is destroyed, and their movement is reduced to something like 3 or so.

The other unit is a crystal golem, something that can cause serious damage, and take it too, but is very slow.
Also made out of that special crystal ofcourse, and powered by a lot of souls

So, what do you think, would it fit or not.
Note that I got this idea before I read about the titan by guardian of the citadel.

i like both ideas sound verry good giant would be like tha avator but i would still like to see one

Wow, not to sound offensive, but these are both really similar to some old ideas we had a while ago, the Abalim and the Avatar (scroll down a bit for the crystal Avatar, the ghostly Avatar is on page 1).

Personally I liked both these ideas, and I think with a few changes like the ones you suggested (make the Avatar slow and the war machine more familiar) people might accept them more.

I had the idea for the war machine first, and after that I made the golem up.

It does indeed sound like a good idea to combine the units in to one, somewhat more balanced unit.

about the abalim: OMG, someone had the same idea as me :blink:, even the carried by angels part!
Like the golem, I think combining our ideas about how to do it will give a more balanced, usefull result.


There is one special rule about both these that I would really like your oppinion about.
I call it shatter. When the warmachine or the golem is destroyed, it does 2d6 Strength 3 attacks to all units within D6 inch of the golem/machine.

I'm not really shure about the strenght yet, I might lower it (since it has potential to do 12 hits)

See, I think the warmachine thingy could fit, except for the fact that we're trying to completely avoid shooting at this point. The Golem is a pretty bad match, sorry.

The golem was the second of the two ideas.
And it was the one I personally also liked least (although as a lizardmen player, I still love big beasts)
