Title: The mighty fources of chaos
Description: Lets admit it they are the best!
Angel of doom - November 29, 2005 09:56 PM (GMT)
Hey all! Well I got a small problem, my mighty chaos army has taken many hammerings from the migits known as Dwarfs. I've got a mix of beasts and hordes. My opponant uses mainly long range, but when I used the ambush rule with my beast herd somehow i failed to run down a unit of crossbow men and then they turned around and took out my unit. Meanwhile the rest of my army is slowly dieing as they get closer and are etheir fleeing or to weak to win when they get in. Anyone got any tips?
shootyarmies - November 29, 2005 11:35 PM (GMT)
either use faster units or switch to elves
Dark Angel - November 30, 2005 02:19 AM (GMT)

Slaanesh
some people say i'm obsessed with him, but in this case it would be highly beneficial. no panic, and the fastest (non-flying) steeds in the game. Furies could be handy to engage missile units, purely for the purpose to stop them shooting.

Ok thanks guys(IM SLAANESH ALSO YAY!). Except you Dark Angel, i don't like you(joking lol).
Well the basis of my army:
1 unit of 12 warriors of chaos, sheilds, champion, musician, banner and They were chosen.
1 beast unit, sheilds, 12 gors, 8 ungors, banner, muscian and banner.
1 spawn of chaos, slaanesh upgrade(3D6 M)
1 unit of armoured beasts(Can't think of name right now) sheilds, banner, muscian and chapion.
A bray shamon useing the lore of Death(i think)
Dwarfs:Bolt thrower
Dwarf cannon
12 crossbows
12 iron breakers
12 normal dwarfs
12 normal dwarfs
Dward lord.
Yes I know the armies arn't excactly legal but what ya gona do.

hmmm,
when facing dwarves, its all or nothing with magic, and if you go all, (needing 2 mages <2000pts, 3+ >2000pts) use the lore of slaanesh, it is arguably one of the best lores in the game.
some mounted daemonettes would be very useful, as would changing the warriors (slow...:() for knights (fast! :)) The quicker you engage his units, the less shooting they get.
hounds could be helpful for screening, since when they panic, it won't spread to the rest of your troops.
AoAlgebra
p.s. I don't actually play chaos, but have used the Cult of Slaanesh several times
Angel of doom - November 30, 2005 06:13 PM (GMT)
Ok thanks. The problem is saveing up, it's like £10 more for only 5 men(I know their much better). I probably get after x-mas. If you don't collect chaos what do you collect?
Angel of Algebra - November 30, 2005 06:16 PM (GMT)
Dark Elves, (hence Cult of Slaanesh), who need to use tactics more extensively than Beasts and Slaanesh Daemons, thus explaining my speed addiction
Wood Elves, even more tactical

lol. Dark elves are cool(Coz i neve been beaten by them, well never played them before) so are Empire, they so weak and pathetic(No offence to any empire collectors).

Dude, I'm going to have to step in here.
DA- Shut up. Thats mean :P.
SA- Not exactly helpful.
AoA- Right on the money.
Angel of Doom- I'm going to have to ask you to at least pretend to contribute to the main body of the site (the work on an angelic beings army list. Not exactly chaos BUT....). If you don't want to, then there are several chaos related sites, most notably www.worldofchaos.co.uk . But as to your immediate problem, I'd have to say go for a more agressive force. 2 units of marauder horsemen (if you can afford, they're expensive), so marauders, some mounted daemonettes, some ambushing beast units.
I don't play Chaos, as I play Dark Elves, Lizzardmen, used to play dwarves though. My advice is to hit his small units. They can't stand up to anything when hit in the flank, even marauder horsemen. Just be careful.

Ok thanks, but I need some guidance to the whole contributeing to the project. What you want me to do and ill go try and do it?
Grand Seraphim - December 1, 2005 10:10 PM (GMT)
Okay, my first advise, you a legal army. Belive me it makes it easier to comment on, and ignore Shooty (flipping elf).
If you do want to win some games, you need to seriously change your force around.
First of all, Warhounds. Lots and Lots of Warhounds :P, there cheap, there fast and there funny. Send these guys foward to there doom at full pelt, your opponent will be more concerned in killing of these, so it covers your more powerful, slower units which should be advancing behind them. (Chaos Warriors, Knights, Bestigor, Daemons). If the warhounds expire to early get a unit or so of Marauder's to cover your unit, yet again they are cheap.
Main chaos Strategy- Get across the board, get into cc, then tear apart the enemy.
As long as you play with Terrain, and on a proper board Dwarfs are by no means unbeatable but if you play on an open field with nothing there, then prepare to be utterly annihlated by the dwarf line, simple as that.

D'oh. every army has the potential to beat any other army. its a matter of tactics. Empire are NOT weak and pathetic, you've just been playing againts a dodgy general(s). Sheesh.
Try visiting the rules and fluff threads for a start, and read the welcome bit in the "new members and site topics" section. you could even say hi there if you havent already done so.
