once per turn you may add +1 to to any stat except wounds(to the rider not the mount)

OMG! :o DA has made a unit that doesn't have 'Dark' or 'Fallen' in the name and he likes it, call the police! it's an alien, lol, just kidding :P

Very interesting and unique idea, are they 0-1? ;) since it counts as a steed, he has a 3+ armour save, but he still seems a little easy to kill...one hit, and it's down, you might want to think about that. maybe make them like bret pegasus riders, give the rider increased wounds and toughness, and don't include those stats on the dragons profile, so they have a little more survivability for what they cost. 60pts is a bit steep for something a unit of spearmen could take down.

I actually really like the idea. The crystal theme is really good and unique, I like crystal armour and Might of the Fallen, I think this could really work. As AoA said, he does seem a little easy to kill for a 60 point model. Howabout you do the combined profile thing, and combine their toughness and wounds into one profile? This gives him T4, 2 wounds and a 3+ save, a little more survivable, which is a big factor for an expensive unit like this. Small modifications aside, it's a really great idea, I think I prefer these over White Knights.

well if i give them S4 and T4 then if you wanted them to be derensive they would have S5

I think he made a couple of non dark characters, but units AOA is right i think.

Anyway, its a cool idea, but as others have said you should combine the stat line.

i was thinking about making crystal armor a unique armor for our team making it 5+ with MR(1) and can be worn by wizzards

the non-dark are slayers(may comeback as crystal guards), Silver Dragons, maidens, imortals and kins of the night

One thing that DA forgot to mention is that he i smaking plans for a "Crystal Kingdom" element of our army. A few themed units, much like the Temple of Khaine army for Dark Elves or similar for other armies.
Since we all like these guys, the question is:
Them or White Knights or both.

Crystal Kingdom eh? Now that I really like. We could link it to existing fluff as well, like Seraphaal's Crystal sword. I can really see all this stuff happening, Crystal Knights as special, Crystal Guard (or whatever they may be called) as core, and maybe a Crystal rare as well (hint hint Abalim nudge nudge). Also a Crystal hero would provide some interesting possibilities. I have a few ideas myself, either:

A completely new crystal hero, armed with crystal equipment and maybe a few other bonuses.

A 'Crystal Kindred' type of option, where a character pays points for Crystal armour, weapons, bonuses, etc.

Or, simply just make Crystal armour a normal armour option.

Now the clever part is that we can make it so that unless you take a Crystal hero, all crystal units are 0-1 choices, thus allowing for a completely Crystal army option, and representing the fact that these units are very rare, and only appearing in great numbers rarely, at the behest of the Crystal lords.

Whatever the outcome, major kudos to DA for this idea. Bravo.


P.S. I vote for Silver Knights over White Knights.

Okay I love it! Yep, after Princes talk i absolutely love the idea. It adds another element to our army, that will broaden it out and expand tactics.

Question is, how similar to normal angels are these guys going to be? I mean will they still be able to fly.

Oh, and that pic you have DA is what i have come to call "The Chicken" (if you ever play the game FFIX you will know what i mean) and prehaps is not the best example for these guys (i think) maybe i' will try and whip somthing up in photo shop (after, like 1000 essays...)

Oh, and SA has not has his say yet, and im sure he will have some objections.

I really like the rules, but I just can't see a dragon in an angel army. I think we should create some kind of new steed for our riders. I think it would give us a real unigue feel to our cavalry.

yeh, like a kind of (down-sized) T-rex sorta shape, rides on hind legs, but has really flowing mane... ill post my thought process when i put it into paint

you cant see a dragon in our army riiiiiiiiggggght its not really a dragon it has fethed wings its just verry large and has sharp talons its much better than any silly creature you can think of

if you seen Final Fantasy 9 then you will see what its based off of its not really a dragon its silverish with a red tip on its wings (which are featherd) also like an egal with a wip like tail and front paws they are just named silver dragons not really dragons (cuz they gots no breath attacks or high S/T) thats the thing and i like how they look no cold one copy or such

go here and watch Kuja Appears, Queen Brahne Summons Bahamut, Arriving at Memoria silver dragons attack, and Cid comes to the rescue

Now, why don't we want dragons in the army? I can totally envision heavenly/magicky/mystical dragons for us. I don't know, but thats what I think.

The Chaos Dragons are the offspring of Galrauch, First of the Chaos Dragons (funnily enough) who is a High Elf Dragon mutated by Tzeentch magic. therefore dragons most certainly are NOT the creatures of chaos

this is what it is based off of and GS i care squat about what you say about how it shouldnt represent it for some "chicken" reason but it is a cool creature

Im reffering to it as a Chicken DA, because in the game it is about as much of a threat AS a Chicken. It also looks a bit like one :P

I was reffering to raptor as in a Bird of Prey, not a velociraptor, even though velociraptors had feathers and were smaller than the popular Jurassic Park image of them.

Crystal Raptor or Silver Raptor sounds just about as good as Dragon.

Well, let's see how everyone else feels about it.

Raptor? Nah, im against it. It will give people the impression of Dinosaurs, simple as that which is most ceartinly not what were going for.

If they are not dragons then we should not really call them Silver Dragons. Its like calling a horse a Silver Elephant really. (thats an extreme of course). Anyway i cant think of a new name off of the top of my head.

OT, im sure its Nova Dragon, but i will look it up to confirm. If it isent that boss im sure its soon after that. And in game it really does fight like a chicken, cast silence and it effectively is :D

as the old ones alterd the world the decendents of dragons known as the silver dragons appeared theey were much smaller less ly protected and had fetherd wings unlike the normal dragon though they were uniques amongst their race the lizard men saw a use for them and used them for battle but as the warp gates collasped the entire army and city holding these majestic creatures was destroied and the dragons flead to the islands of the stars where they held refuge in the crystal forests untill they were rediscoverd by the angels

this fluff is horrible but we could call them drakes instead of dragons

Drake might work, but Drakes are really just small dragons, meaning scales and that appearance, people probably won't get it. I still think Raptor fits better to their description.
