Title: My First Angel Creation
Description: Still (WIP)

Dark Watcher - September 19, 2005 09:05 AM (GMT)
Well i have almost completed my sculpt. I has taken alot longer than i thought mainly due to uni and work. Even though it is not quite finished i wanted to show you how it was looking. Plus GS was getting a bit antsy.

The hands are not on and head is missing. I dont think i could sculpt those just yet so i think that i will just get some empire bits and convert them on.
The robe still needs a bit of work and a tad more detail is needed on the upper half but you should be able to see where i am going with it.

NOTE: This is my first full sculpt ( i started with plastc and wire then used green stuff) so be kind with comments. I spent 3 weeks doing it too

Also NOTE: this is my interpritation of the Archangel model on this site. It by no means makes any comment on the stats or rules that are being discussed (i.e it has heavy armor and a robe and two hand weapons)

I have taken the alot of ideas from the deamon hunter models and tried to add my own theme to it and style. He is wearing a breast plate (hard to tell its not skin cause its not painted), a robe and a front cloth. The wings are feathered and he has leg armor, boots and a sholder plate as well.

These photos where taken with a friends camera so i am not use to it (it was a good camera) and i tried a few different effects on the comp with the pictures. I think they are good enough to see detail.

Anyway enough craping on heres the link to my (newly created) album

OMFG :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

we finally have a angelic mode and it kooks awsome

i have one question though is he leaning on his wings

Dark Watcher - September 19, 2005 01:18 PM (GMT)
i can see what you mean. Picture seven does make it look like it is leaning on its wing, but no he is not, it is just the wierd angle that the photo is taken.

Sorry about some of the colours i was mucking around with the computer contrast to show detail. The flash really highlights the different shades of my green stuff mixtures too

Grand Seraphim - September 19, 2005 06:49 PM (GMT)
Wow, this rules so far :)

That is some excellent sculpting you have done there, nice work. I find it hard to rate completly until it is complete so will reserve "full" judgment until then.

How are you planning to sculpt the face, and are you giving him a shield and sword in his hands or is there a different weapon combination you were planning on?

Congrats, you are know official Angelic Sculptor. (sorry but i cant resist this)

"Go forth and Build me an Army Worthy of Mordor!!!!!"

Ahh its good to be king (relaxes on throne, using Baran as footstool)

Baranthazul - September 19, 2005 08:31 PM (GMT)
*Footstool*

I really like it! I think that for the face you should have a robe covering the "hair" kinda like Annakin looks in the new Star Wars movie (with the quaize eye).
Again, manginifique! Now make us other models (after finishing this, in the next 4 hours)!

Wow! great job!

man, if only I could sculpt like that...

Clavix - September 29, 2005 10:36 PM (GMT)
Hey DW, now all you have to do is paint it so we can really see the details.

Dark Watcher - September 30, 2005 05:37 AM (GMT)
im just working on a head shield and sword and then ill post it again then paint it.

Grand Seraphim - September 30, 2005 07:55 PM (GMT)
Excellent, Excellent.

can hardly wait :)

(By the way, do you have acsess to a mold so you could possibly convert the greens into plastic etc?)

Dark Watcher - October 1, 2005 04:09 AM (GMT)
no i am not that advanced.
But i would like to find out how to do it. I think i wouldnt be able to anyway cause the figure probably doesnt have the right angles and i would have to chop it into two many pieces

Dark Angel - October 1, 2005 11:36 AM (GMT)
do a full mold of that first use clay or Something thaen mold head and halabard

Grand Seraphim - October 18, 2005 09:13 PM (GMT)
CLay tends to leak when i use it, and its nigh on to get the right contours. For basic molds it can be okay though.

Give it a try, really its not that hard (just try and get your hands on some molten Iron, get some spare scrap iron, heat it up and then pour it into the clay mold)

If your still in school ask your techonology teachers for help.

Baranthazul - October 18, 2005 11:10 PM (GMT)
Technology? I've never heard of that course. Is this some british thing? -_-
