Title: Playtest 2.5k
Baranthazul - September 7, 2005 06:04 PM (GMT)
The dice gods did not want a fair playtest. I just killed 8 gobbos with a mylia breath attack, found out that the abalim is way too good, and that our army's more specialized troops need to be toned down, as I hit 5/5 times with sons and killed 4 of those, and so many other things that just don't work when we have good luck. I'll explain better later.

I used the list I posted before, only with a cherubim instead of the princedom, with Lv 3, and blessing of zadkiel, +1 ward, and choose spells. I also noticed that most of our units are single models, small units of 3ish or skirmish, which is not the most fair. We decided (tarag and I) that the abalim just seemed really unfair, and too powerful, so we should tone it down.

A more detalied report would be nice Baran.
I think we should make a rule that only Angels and Arch angels count towards core minimum requirment in order for there to be a substantial number of Angelic Troops in the battle at any one time anyway.
If you could be a bit more specific about the Abalim it would help.
Thanks

Well, nothing happened, as we ended the battle after 1 turn. We realized that for 220 points (or however much it is) you get 4 D6 S4 MM missles. That is a possible 24 S4 missles per turn. That auto hit, and can target 4 different units. It just seemed too good when it got on the table.
Also, we notcied how many of our units skirmish. Sons, Vengeances, Anelai, it just seemed OTT.
I think we need a few more tests, and we might need to do a serious revision.

Maybe you should use out more regular army next time (less skirmishers) and give it a go.
And when you say a lot of skirmishers, are we talking more than WE here?

Well, woodies have Wardancers, Dryads and Waywatchers (I think thats it). We have the same amount, but our army is more of a combat oriented, not manuevering oriented army.
On a side not, I think we need to pick a weakness, right now for our army. All others have one (Gav destroyed chaos' with the HC...).
