Title: not quite a full report, 500 points
Description: I dont remember the details

shootyarmies - September 2, 2005 05:21 PM (GMT)
we used the warbands rules
Princedom - blessing of zadkiel(+1 to ward) glowing blade (model wounded may not attack) heavy armor, shield
2x 12 angels - full command, shields

vs

WE noble - eternal kindred, blight of terrors
2x 6 dryads
2x 5 glade guard
4 wild riders

it was a capture mission, the objective being a piece of impassable terrain, 3"x3" on top of a hill that counts as difficult terrain. Also, we started 24" apart instead of 18

one unit of angels were charged by the wild riders, who killed 2 and lost one, and so were broken at the end of the first turn. The wild riders were immediately run down, then the angels charged a uniot of glade guard, who somehow broke them, then shot down the rest.
the other unit managed to charge a unit of dryads just past the objective because of thier ability to fly, and that battle lasted the rest of the game, the angels down to 6, the dryads 5.
the leader went up, breaking a unit of dryads who ended up rallying at the end, then charged and was killed by the noble.

units at the end:
saraphim: 6 angels (full command)
elves: 9 dryads, 10 glade guard, 1 noble with one wound left

winner: seraphim

Not to sure about your unit count

Is that what was left or is that what was destroyed?

shootyarmies - September 2, 2005 05:52 PM (GMT)
what was left at the end, and they won because it was a capture, and the angels were touching the objective, but, now that I look at it again, that should be 6 angels

Dark Angel - September 2, 2005 06:47 PM (GMT)
why do we keep winning somethings wron the only time we lose is when we face cheesy all archer armies

shootyarmies - September 2, 2005 07:01 PM (GMT)
well, that one was very close, seing as, if we played using VP's, the angels would have gotten massacred with those results. Also, there was another one that I didnt post, but the angels lost. The same army went into an all-out assault (it was a breakthrough) against a nurgle mortal army, they all failed thier fear test to charge and didnt rally.

Hmm, you see this is why i (at first) made the Immune to phsycology.

I just dont see angels fleeing from chaos of all things! (the stuff they were created to defeat).

Maybe we should add a rule that they dont suffer from fear or terror when facing a chaos army?

Anomandaris - September 4, 2005 11:19 AM (GMT)
yes maybe you should get rid of one of the weaknesses when this army clearly needs to be stronger.

everyone else needs to worry about fear so why shouldn't you? Just because of one unlucky game?

play some larger battles using some of the more exotic units, warhammer is designed to be played at about 2kpts not 500 so this is a skewed way of testing, while important it is not on par with how others are tested.

I'll give the V1.2(posted on GW site) list a go today (using chaos warriors as proxies, I imagine they are on 25mm bases but could be wrong) at 2kpts and I'll see what happens.
