The conversion jobs really well done, looks sort of in the vision of a Appolyon.

Much better converting then I could have done but it was mostly a cut and paste conversion, taking stuff from different models and putting it together, and really no new parts at all. While it is good, it is not even close to the best conversion I have seen.

That actually is what I've considered to make Apollyon look like... I think I'll write up a conversion list and see what you all think.

Do you know who did it? I'm pretty impressed with it. Has anyone here actually got down and converted/created some angel models of their own?

GS said he did, but no one can really trust that slimy GS "supermod." Superly mediocre mod, I say.

I did, my dads a smith by trade so i was able to usesome equipment he had in the shed. Im back at Uni now so its kinda hard to have another crack at it, probably will come christmas or sumin though.

although i am basicly new to this forum i am thinking of converting an angel/archangel from buts and peices of other models, i thought of maybe making a model of the cherubim, (thats the lord right?) from a woodelf lord and dragon wings

You would probably be better off with pegasus or great eagle wings.

I think Great Eagle wings would be a bit to back heavy for starters and would be to thick to portray angel wings.

Pegasues wings would be better i think, the new Wood elf model would be an intresting option, and the waywathcer one would make a good Bow armed Cherubim as well! Hmm, i think the WE range in general is going to be a good resource for us when it comes to making angels :)

But on a more serious note:
Have you seen peg wings? They're frickin ginormous. Too big, imo. (Don't play 40k, don't know the name) but some Eldar Troop with wings, small wings, but the right size for our basic angel. They're good.

Im talking about for the Cherubim actually, and ya i do know there huge, i just think they would look good for eagle quills.

Even though i hate elves i do think some of the elven models suit the angels best im afraid. Unless we want to scratch build the entire army we may be stuck with using them im afraid...

youd be suprised how easy wings are to sculpt. When i post my scult you can judge if there any good. I should have done some work in progress pics. Im not that smart (also dont own a digital camera). But by looking around at normal wings they are all to big for the normal units. But the empire special char pegasus wings (the guy who satarts with B) would be good for a hero or lord (or power)
