Title: Instability

Grand Seraphim - June 26, 2005 08:59 PM (GMT)
In this post i would like to hear your cases for, and against Instability. Should angels have it? Should it be a disadvantage to an upgrade? Is it Unfluffy?

Place all opinions here please.

Baranthazul - June 26, 2005 09:21 PM (GMT)
I think its totally fair, and should only be used as a dis-ability. I'm just trying to think if we can alter the rules somewhat, so we aren't unbreakable. Hows about "If you fail the ld check by more than 3, you suffer wounds equal to the amount you failed the check by. No saves allowed."

first that can not happen that is the undead's crumble rule with a few alternates and then angels would have to roll over 11
also whats instablity and if it's for eurithrial other worldy creatures then it's un fluffy because we were created from the seperall guy not creatures from another dimentions

Ironskintribe - June 27, 2005 01:35 AM (GMT)
That's basically what I said in another post. I agree with DA. Do not put instability into the list.

Baranthazul - June 27, 2005 01:38 AM (GMT)
Whatever. Then I've been wrong about instability for a while (what is it?). DA/IST/Any other abbreviations that agree with them two that I forgot (WP?) are right.

Alright. With instability. If you lose combat you test on your unmodified leadership. If you pass then you fail the whole unit dissapears. If you pass then you subtract what you lost by from your leadership, and the difference in your roll and what you failed by is how many wounds you take. If you still did not fail after modifiers, you lose none. And yes I am right :P .

Baranthazul - June 27, 2005 01:44 AM (GMT)
So, if I'm a unit of demons, I lose combat, and have ld 8, and roll a 9, I'm dead. If I roll a 7, then 1 model dies (assuming 1 wound models)?

Ironskintribe - June 27, 2005 01:47 AM (GMT)
Not necessarily. Let's say you are a deamon unit and you lose combat by 3. You have leadership 8 and roll a 9, then your whole unit goes poof. If you roll a 7 though, then you take your leadership of 8 and - the combat modifiers to make your leadership 5. Then the dif between 7 and 5 is 2 so that is the wounds you take.

Baranthazul - June 27, 2005 01:51 AM (GMT)
Ok. So, another scenario. I have leadership 19. I lose combat by 12. I somehow fail my ld check. I go poof. Or I roll an 11. I lose 4 wounds. Gotcha. Check your pm's.

Ironskintribe - June 27, 2005 01:53 AM (GMT)
Yes that is correct, and I checked my Pms now check yours.

Baranthazul - June 27, 2005 01:58 AM (GMT)
I did, so check yours. And now I understand, and don't need to borrow a "friend's" Chaos book, or have to go down to a gw. *shivers*

Read it now, DA.

Dark Angel - June 27, 2005 02:06 AM (GMT)
that is terrable its worse than the crumble rule now why do we get instability?

Ironskintribe - June 27, 2005 02:10 AM (GMT)
Now, you're just threadjacking Baran, there is already a topic on this in the off topic section, keep it there.

Eviscerator - June 27, 2005 09:11 AM (GMT)
ill add my vote to the arguement against instability, i dont like it. making the whole army unbreakable is a bad idea IMO.

Ironskintribe - June 27, 2005 03:55 PM (GMT)
I agree with that eviscerator. We don't want yet another unbreakable army out there, we also don't want to be copies of deamons so I guess so far almost everyone is against instability.

Woodpecker - June 28, 2005 01:21 PM (GMT)
I don't want them to have instability. They aren't daemons. They are made from the old one's shards.

Ironskintribe - June 28, 2005 02:11 PM (GMT)
Well aren't you original WP :P . But, yes I agree WP on the issue of instability.
