Title: Guess who's seen the new woody book?
Description: ME!

Baranthazul - June 21, 2005 11:13 PM (GMT)
The gw manager let me look at it today. I couldn't look at everything, but I saw a lot of things. Ask away!

Woodpecker - June 21, 2005 11:16 PM (GMT)
Okay, for starters, tell me everything you saw.
Could you just give an overview, so I can interrogate you from there?

Baranthazul - June 21, 2005 11:23 PM (GMT)
Ok.... I saw a ton of stats, spites (like spawnings or honors, or something similar) and magic items. Theres too much for me to just say everything. What specifically do you want to know about?

Taragudrig - June 22, 2005 04:29 AM (GMT)
The manager let me see it aswell, most of what is in the rumors are true.

There are kindreds, which give you special rules and abilities that don't count towards your magic item limit.

Then there are sprites which are essential magic items, an elf hero can take 1 while the treemen hereos and the like can take as many as they want.

Woodpecker - June 22, 2005 12:57 PM (GMT)
Okay, for starters, can we get an overveiw of all the kindreds, and a short discription of as many units as you can remember?

Baranthazul - June 22, 2005 01:29 PM (GMT)
Tarag, Stu didn't let me see the kindreds. I'm so sad.
So, on to the units:
Archers: Ignore Move/Shoot, move through woods freely. Normal otherwise (forget unit size, assume 5 again)
GG: As before 12 (?) points.
Eternal Guard: Only if Highborn is present, Ld 9, WS5 (?). Eternal Guard fighting style (didn't let me see what it was). Ignore Move/Shoot, move through woods freely.
GR: Ignore Move/Shoot, move through woods freely. Armed with bows, basic core fast cav. +X points for spears.
Treekin: Trolls, w/o stupidty, regen, and higher movement
Treeman: As before, without head bash thing, but with special attack, that targets all enemies within 6", and does artillery dice amount of S5(?) hits.
Waywatchers: KB at short range. Ignore Move/Shoot, move through woods freely.
Wild Riders. 2 attacks (?), S5 on charge, S4 normal, gets +1 attacks in remaining rounds of combat. Cause fear on charge.
I forget Wardancers, didn't let me get a good look at specials....
Tarag can hopefully fill in the rest, and correct any mistakes I made...

Sounds good, I like. Now I want to start a wood elf army! But then my fellow ogre players would kill me for going to the pansy side :P .

And yes, please post more about them.

Baranthazul - June 22, 2005 02:53 PM (GMT)
Then start a DE army, and have the DE assassins assassinate the ogres. They did look pretty awesome, and ask questions, and I'll see if I can answer them!

What's the magic lore like. Give us a fluff overveiw. Give us a Core/Special/Rare veiw.

Ironskintribe - June 22, 2005 09:20 PM (GMT)
Yeah come on lazy, type, type, type, we want it all!

Baranthazul - June 22, 2005 11:15 PM (GMT)
Ok. Didn't let me see the lore or the fluff. Didn't I already give the overview. And Iron, get off your [insert prohibited curse here] and do stuff too. Like write a college thesis. And don't save it, print a hard copy and burn it.
I'm tired, it takes a lot of work to retype what I said. But, I'll do it for y'all, because I care (and can't paint for another 20 minutes, due to the whole "dinner" thing:
CORE
Archers: Ignore Move/Shoot, move through woods freely. Normal otherwise (forget unit size, assume 5 again)
GG: As before 12 (?) points.
Eternal Guard: Only if Highborn is present, Ld 9, WS5 (?). Stubborn.
Eternal Guard fighting style (didn't let me see what it was). Ignore Move/Shoot, move through woods freely.
GR: Ignore Move/Shoot, move through woods freely. Armed with bows, basic core fast cav. +X points for spears.

SPECIAL
Treekin: Trolls, w/o stupidty, regen, and higher movement
Wild Riders. 2 attacks (?), S5 on charge, S4 normal, gets +1 attacks in remaining rounds of combat. Cause fear on charge. 26 points.
I forget Wardancers, didn't let me get a good look at specials....

RARE
Treeman: As before, without head bash thing, but with special attack, that targets all enemies within 6", and does artillery dice amount of S5(?) hits.
Waywatchers: KB at short range. Ignore Move/Shoot, move through woods freely.

Go away, I'm done.

Dryads? Warhawks? Great eagles?

Baranthazul - June 23, 2005 12:05 AM (GMT)
Didn't get a good look at any of those. Dryads are core ( I think...), warhawks are special, and GE are rare. Check you pm's.

I didn't get no stinkin' pms! I want to see the new woody stuff! Thanks for putting it up too Baran.

Baranthazul - June 23, 2005 02:40 AM (GMT)
The pm had nothing to do with the woodies. It was 1.1. If you want a pm, I send you one.
