Title: Final Stages

Grand Seraphim - March 20, 2007 11:07 PM (GMT)
Due to the recent drop in activity on the site i want to put the pedal down on the final phases of production, although some may see this as "rushing it" the facts are that this list is going to have to be released without the extensive playtesting that was originally envisoned for it.

So a few things that will be happening within a number of weeks
-Units will be given the "Finished" stamp, these units will be put into the book as is. If anything is still really flawed it will either A) Dropped or B) Given a final vote and stamped with that result.

-Fluff needs clearing up, anyone who is trying to compile the fluff contact me and i will try and give you a run down of valid + invalid fluff. I will also try and get round to publishing a final fluff Compendium in the fluff section.

-Modelling, we are going to have to make do with what we have. If anybody has photos of angel projects (or a vaguley angel like model) please post it, we are in dire need of these.

-Artwork, we do have a limited number of pieces of artwork, and if no more are submitted the book may have a dire amount of artwork in it. Most pieces submitted so far will be used (and credit will be given were due). The front cover artwork may simply have to be the only one we have. (Check our the Pictures post in General to see it).

-Is this the end of Seraphim?
By no means! However i really want a copy of this list out that is "acceptable" in the public eye. I would rather the past year and a half of my life was not a complete waste :P. The "2.0" of the list will be the 1st edition, work may continue onto a new edition of the book, or a new project may be considerd for Seraphim to pursue. This will be discussed when the time is right.

-So what now?
Get posting, anything you want to bring up, bring it up now because your not going to get another chance. Questions, problems, suggestions. I cant stress enough the fact that this is peoples last chance.

just to be annoying
it would be easier to create artwork if I knew the sizes you needed
aka lay-out the list first and let me ( or anyone else who makes artwork )
"fill in the gaps"

oh and by the way
the no face/helmets thing: yes or no ?

First, at ilmrik's artwork questions, we'll take just about anything:

Some more of the artwork used in the army list section would be good, (the one detailing Core/Special/Rare units, points costs, options, etc.), have a look at the PDF to see which pages are lacking in either art or decent art, no offense intended to any of the artists, I am one myself.

Full page artwork would be nice, I don't think we have any of that.

Some more half/quarter-page size work for the individual unit entries (detailing fluff etc.) is fine too.

Borders/Backgrounds. I can't stress this one enough. An A4 size border would be fantastic (I can simply repeat it over the pages), and one or two background artwork things would be nice (the magic item lists in other books tend to have them, if you're not sure what I mean).

The faceless/face covered by helms thing is still a big yes. All our current artwork uses it, and we really don't want to start from scratch in that area.

------------------------------

Units: My general opinion is that if it's in the list at the moment, it's generally balanced. Both Muses and Cherubai worry me slightly, but neither worry is one a small tweak can't disperse.

Fluff: This is basically a massive section that never really gets the attention it so rightfully deserves. We're vastly lacking in large pieces that generally precede the main list, and small stories. Thankfully, all units have their own fluff entry, and it melds pretty well together.

Modelling: I say we leave this part to the player's imagination. If we have any stuff, by all means put it in, but otherwise all we can really do is dedicate a page or two to compiling modelling ideas for the public.

Artwork: I think I explored this extensively enough above. Unfortunately, I don't see many entries from myself in the near future. My teachers are all tightening the "exam noose" and it's starting to show that I don't study. Damn you FFXII! :P

Seraphim's future: I would definitely say that at least one part of Seraphim should become an "army-specific forum" for the Angels, but we don't need to explore that just yet. If we are to continue with other projects, that's great :)
