Title: Angelic City

Grand Seraphim - December 28, 2006 01:56 PM (GMT)
I just want to take another look at this angelic city we have, (what was it called again, because i just dont remember).

None of the original fluff i created for the angels had anything to do with cities, but it has obviously developed into that. Are we keeping the very Minas Tirith style of it? I dont personally like it because it seems very cliched...

IIRC, the city is called Ayamith, because the vote overruled both of the decent names :P

I'm not really bothered about the city's structure, throw some ideas my way, and I'll give an opinion.

i have an idea for the city

it is a city compleatly sourounded by watter the walls tuch the sea around it and to all 4 sides (N,S,E,W) are 4 islands too far for most angels to fly to, so to the north, east and west there are bridges but there is none to the south only an underground passige connects the south island with the city

the city itself is in a spiral pattern by the time it makes its full 360 degree turn it is at the top of the city where the library, and the upper class of the angels are

I would prefer to have it as a gigantic spiral than have it in different "levels" as WP wanted it. A spiral city is more original (as far as i know). Im afraid i dont exactly understand what you are trying to say about the islands DA, try clearing up your grammer?

A spiral city would certainly be cool, and I have only heard of one other case of it (a rather obscure case of sea-people where the city is built around a huge shell that spirals inwards, anyone who's played Summoner 2 knows what I'm talking about).

the ideal is from the Grand Duchery of Juno from FFXI online but the city is on an island the walls go compleatly around so they tuch the sea, sourounding the city there are 4 islands (to the north, south, east and west) now these 4 islands are too far for most angels to fly to so thre are 3 grand bridges connecting the north, east and west island to the city (so we can contact the minor city outposts in the reigon) but to the south there is no bridge only an undergound cavern conecting the city to the island its well guarded. the lowes point is to the south, housing is to the center a massing of houses around a giant hole which you must fly to.

First of all, thank you for clearing that up, i can understand what you are trying to say now.

I dont think your idea can be used for the simple reason

How much of a clean rip is your idea?

I still prefer the spiral image thing... And why would there be an undergound tunnel? Seems very unagnelic if you ask me...

fine fine to save us some time seince i dint know how much you want angels to be the pure antitheseis of chaos here is a more proper version of our angelic city plain we have a housing district a weapons district, and other varyous districs needed for the angel's survival.

nothing more nothing less the city is flat and has the basics needed fo angelic survival and thats what the city should look like for a race that is the antitheses of chaos

hmm how about a plain, normal not-so-high city, but when seen from above it's shaped like a perfect circle and the houses are placed so that they or the space between them forms some kind of pattern, like some angelic sign/rune of protection or power.

in my imagination it looks really cool :D

Dark Angel - December 31, 2006 12:55 AM (GMT)
nope some plain ciity which is built for maxamum productivity creatures of law cannot have anything elese Excess is Slaanesh a god of chaos the antithesies of chaos must avoid all temptations of chaos because we must spend all of our power ot fight it. (even through its main source of power emotions)

I like the idea of the rune of protection/power.
