Shin Megami Tensai=Digital Devil Saga? I saw the first two volumes at Gamestop. If they're the same, is it worth it? I'm big on RPGs, mostly because my love for exploring. Adventure games are good, too.

Shin Megami Tensei and Digital Devil Saga 1 and 2 are made by the same people. DDS is different than how SMT is. In SMT you recruit monsters as your allies. You can also fuse them as well. DDS is more like a FF where you have three party members in battle. The battle system keeps the main stategy of trying to exploit enemy's weaknesses. In order to learn skills and spells you have a sphere grid type thing where you learn skills and such. I forget what it's called, though. But be warned this game can and will kick your ass if you're not careful. The story in both games is very interesting, IMO. The first game ends in a cliffhanger and is thus continues in the second game. If you have the funds I wholeheartedly suggest you pick them both up.

DDS is basically a spinoff of SMT to my understanding....

Yep. The thing is the SMT spin offs are actually great compared to some other companies spin offs. B)

Also if you have the chance to buy them, do, because even if you don't like them you could probably sell them for a good sum of money...
