Title: Conflict Resolution

This clan leadership’s Authority comes from The Clan Rules and Founding Principles.
The leadership is allowed to act within these established boundaries without requiring a vote. If you disagree with an action you have to ask yourself two questions.

1. Did the leader act within the established guidelines of the clan.?
2. Do I approve of this guideline?

If you answer NO to either of those questions, you have tree options available to you.

1. Ask them for an explanation so you can understand why they did what they did. Ask them to reconsider their action. This is done by discussion and not an attacking poll.
2. Change the standard under which they are operating. This is done by following the procedure to change The Clan Rules or Founding Principle.

3. You may think an action was taken that was in a Grey Area, No guideline was violated yet it wasn't followed either. Something that is not spelled out in The Rules and Founding Principles and you don't approve of a leader taking action without permission. An example: Accepting an Alliance with another clan. OR perhaps you think an Admin over reacted.

This is an area where you should proceed with some intelligence. First thing to consider... "Am I the only one who feels this way?". When I have a problem with something I often ask around. Just to make sure it's not just me. If several people agree with me I will go ahead and post an Well Thought Out question on the subject.

For instance, if youre banned from chat, if you think thats in error, you have no way to go back in to discuss it with the op that banned you. and you can't go to anybody else, because, like lamer said, its between you and the op. So, suggestions? (oh wait) theres a way in Mirc to message a certain user online, but im too lame to know how its done. (well just a thought)

Step 1: Remain Calm. Resist the urge to go on a raging tantrum. If you go on a tantrum you loose any oportunity at respect or mediation.

Step 2: Send a PM to the OP (yes, you can do this even if you cant enter the room). Asking to understand the reson for the Kick or Ban.

Step 3: BE PREPARED to admit you are wrong. BE Prepared to apologize.

Step 4: Ask for that OP and Myself to meet you in a chatroom for mediated discussion.

-------------

TRL has evolved a culture of blatant disrespect and mistrust of the leadership. Where people in the throws of an Irrational Raging Tantrums are allowed to attack the leadership. They rally other, uniformed, members around them and the fight is on. This also applies to individuals who manage to maintain their composure, yet refuse to accept that they may have done wrong and commence to cause trouble.

The vast majority of the cases are were a where the Leader made a decision based on what they intrepret as the Community's desires. A Single Individual does not aggre with a leader. In the name of Democracy they go on the warpath. Becaused they invoke democracy, the common rabble rally to their cause.

"In the name of Democracy". It is not democratic for one person, throwing a tantrum, to attack a leader following the desires of the majority. If it is indeed the desire of the majority to invoke a change, Tantrums and hysteria is not an appropriate approach.

A particularly nasty part of this culture has been the ability to play one leader off of another. Where an affronted memer causes leadership to fight and work against each other.

This dark bit of our culture has caused much of the discord among us and is what I am I am trying to change. The process of change is not easy. Many of you will not like it. Especially beacuse to casue the change I have to be Strict, Hard and possibly violate your rights. In the end it will be an improvement, not just for your rights but for the future of the clan.

Leadership will be:
..Recognized for the Elected Status
..Trusted to know, understand and Honor the foundation of TRL
..Assumed that their decisions represent the desires of the Community.
