Details: The Havant Literary Festival Open Poetry Competition 2008 will be judged by John Haynes, winner of the Costa Award for Poetry in 2006 and the Troubadour Prize in 2007.

2nd Prize £100
3rd Prize £50
Conditions of Entry
¨ Open to any nationality aged 18 or over.
¨ Poems must be in English and not more than 20 lines (excluding title).
¨ Please type on one side of white A4 paper. No fancy fonts please.
¨ Poems cannot be returned so don’t sent original manuscripts.
¨ The poet’s name or any other identifying mark should not be on the poem.
¨ Poems must be the original work of the poet and not have been previously published, broadcast or awarded a prize or submitted for publication elsewhere.
¨ Copyright remains with the poet but Havant Literary Festival reserves the right to use the poems in any publicity.
¨ The closing date for entries is 18th July 2008.
¨ Winners will be notified by early September and invited to read at a prize giving ceremony at the Tongues and Grooves music and poetry event at Havant Arts Centre on Thursday 25th September.
¨ All poems must be accompanied by a copy of the entry form and the correct fee of £3.00 ( limited to one entry only).
¨ Cheques should be made payable to: Havant Literary Festival Society
