Interesting stuff. There's that Fiona Pitt-Kethley Selected at last!

When are you going into long fiction, Chris? Though I suppose poetry and short stories are niche markets, and easier to move into - and to produce - than general fiction.

We're publishing our first novel, Sister Morphine by Catherine Eisner in July. We're intensely wary of the fiction market. It's so much more expensive and "agentised". We'll see how Sister Morphine does in Borders and Waterstone's and take a view after that. I wouldn't want to get seriously into fiction unless I knew I could (a) afford it (B) become a player, and © make money out of it.

It has to form part of the long term strategy for the press though. There's not enough money in poetry alone.

Love those icons!

'Sister Morphine' is an absolutely rocking title. I wish you all the best with it.

And another new title hot of the presses, a major translation of Slovenia's national poet
