Jane Kinninmont was guest poet for 'Buzzwords', Cheltenham's poetry cafe on Sunday. If you get the chance to see/hear her - do; I don't think you'll be disappointed. I booked her on the strength of having seen her a couple of years ago - but she has grown and developed since then.
IMO, she successfully straddles the page/stage divide: she has a collection out (by Ragged Raven Press)
Seven League Stilettos , but definitely performs, rather than reads, her work. She did two, twenty minute, sets for us and held the audience through every moment. Jane is a small scotswoman with a huge presence; her work ranged through funny, serious, bitter, thought-provoking - all delivered (both memorised and from the page) with spark and through engagement with the audience.
