I've not spent a day starting at book covers for, er, many years now. Back in the early 90s when I was a young buck running a super team in Cambridge ELT we had a great design and quality ethic going on and produced some lovely, lovely books. We mounted them on the walls and got everyone in the business focussed on visual and textual quality, it was a fabulous time, probably my happiest in Cambridge.

This past year has been really terrific at Salt as we've poured more time and energy into getting the trade sales, and getting the product right (as well as getting the best content we could). It feels like so many things are coming together right now. Very exciting for me and Jen, and the books are really wonderful. Don't know where it's leading, but we feel we've reached a tipping point.

It doesn't seem that long ago when i was bemoaning the lack of hardback poetry books on brit & irish poets - and now we have all this variety of them, in the highest quality one expects from any press, from Salt in this and the previous batch.

Thanks for that, Edmund.
