The annual Eric Gregory Award Winners Reading

Bar reserved from 6pm till 10pm - food and drinks available
Readings from 7.45 sharp: entry - £5

All five winners of the 2008 awards for Britain's best poets under 30 will give short readings. They can't be named yet but I'm happy to announce that they include a regular poster on these forums! And three of my Pilot series poets.

Blimey! A link to an old local of mine in Balham? The Bedford?... I'm not sure if this is supposed to be the RADA bar mentioned but very odd to see this again. They had very good jazz nights upstairs if I remember rightly.

Thanks for spotting that - now corrected. Haven't been to the Bedford since about 1999.

This is this week - already looking like a sell-out -hope to see some of you there! I'll post the winners' names here the night before for those interested.

The winners can now be announced and they are Emily Berry, Rhiannon Hooson, James Midgley, Adam O'Riordan and Heather Phillipson.

They will all read tonight despite the bizarre attempt to glass us by one of the Somerset Maugham winners in the pub after the ceremony. Thankfully none of her bottles or glasses hit their targets.
