im up!

at first glance i hate this deal, then once i think more on it, i see that Detroit needs a superstar, and AI and Sheed are in a contract year so this means Detroit is gearing up for the near future and its looking brighter now.
so early in the year it doesnt make sense. but like joe D says, he wont make a dumb deal and we will make a good deal as soon as he sees it.

From a sentimental standpoint, it's always a tearful farewell to players like Chauncey Billups. His time as 2004 NBA Finals MVP will never be forgotten. And Antonio McDyess was the picture of Detroit -- his hard work ethic and taking-care-of-business face defined everything Michigan is about. I often envisioned him walking into the locker room with a lunch pail and a hardhat.

But at the same time, it's time to move forward. The Pistons were not going to get back past Boston and to the Finals with the same starting lineup we've kept together since 2004. Allen Iverson is a above average passer, ball handler, scorer, and quick on D. He is a phenomenal basketball player, even if he's past his prime.

Plus that $20 million contract for Iverson will free up some cap space if he skips town after this season. Then the Pistons will have some serious room to make some moves if they need to address any positions. Otherwise, the team looks pretty solid, we've got a decent mix of young, energetic players and savvy veterans.

Now if I can just get cable so I can watch a game or two...

I think it's a good deal since I think the Pistons and Joe D is going to sign a superstar so that frees up money in the offseason. I have heard that the Pistons may make an offer to LeBron James when he becomes FA. I don't think A.I. is going to be a Piston after this year just my opinion.

The more i think about it, the more i love this deal. AI should fit in perfectly. like i said, Chauncey was great in Detroit, but AI should be Greater. And i think it really depends on the way AI and the Pistons both perform for the rest of this season. If Detroit can make it to the finals with this squad and AI performs well. then i think he could make a one year return with Sheed leaving and the pistons could go for a Carlos Boozer before trying for Chris Bosh.
