Title: Grade the new trade

i'll give it a C, were so stacked at guard already

I agree. Seemed unnecessary. We could have easily just cut Flip and picked up a big. No need to trade for another guard even if it is playoff insurance for Stuckey & Afflalo. I thought that is what Lindsey is for?

While it does seem unnecessary It does give the Pistons an emergency third string veteran Point Guard who gives you solid minutes, in the case of an injury to Rip or Chauncey. I also think that Joe Dumars is not completely comfortable in trusting Stuckey in the Playoffs.

i 2nd that. stuckey is good and will get better but can't put that much trust in him for the long run

Yeah you can't put that much trust in Stuckey in this year's playoff run; However I have a strong feeling he will be a very special player as a Piston.

I think Arron Afflalo is the more ready of the two. He made some deep tourny run with UCLA so he knows what it's all about. Plus he's a defensive minded player and that's what wins games in the post season.

I'd give it a C as well. I know Joe has had his eyes on Dixon for awhile, but it doesn't really improve this team that much. We're committed to Stuckey and Afflalo now. On the positive side, like Brezec, Dixon's contract runs out after this season so even if it doesn't work out and we'll get the cap space. Dixon probably won't be a huge contributor either (we may still see some Lindsey Hunter in the playoffs), but it would make more sense to add some PG insurance than keeping Primoz.
The real A trade for us this season is getting rid of that toxic Nazr contract. Still, I'm scratching my head as to why we aren't giving Herrmann a chance?!?
