Merit System is the exchange from the Token System but Merits are much better than Tokens now. Tokens are cash while Merits are special points to gain the following things,

USE OF MERITS

• In Awards Corner - AC holds different Items and Pokèmon. Majority RPG/MoAC unfindable is in the Awards Corner!
• Entering a Zone - it is optional to enter a Zone but nonetheless you need Merit points to do so.
• Moving to the next AREA - you need enough Merit Points to move to the next AREA and in the future AREAS, you will find yourself in a forked path, meaning two to four AREAS to choose. Higher Merits are in better AREAS, usually leading to the second-type of Shadow Holder, or the Pokèmon Avatars. You have to meet a certain page requirement also.
• Battling the Zone Guardian - they can determine your Merit Points and this reflect your experience thus far so low Merit Points would mean you're inexperience and they will refuse to battle you.
• Special Requests - through Merits, you can ask for special requests, say putting your advertisement in the front page of the Portal or making an editorial or something. Anything that you want to be added in the Portal/Black Hole page or elsewhere in the site. It is a special request and must be PMed to an Admin to do so. The Admin will discuss it with you until approved and done. Other examples of requests would be making your own Profile instead and so on.
• Casting a Spell - 50MP for a one-word Spell, 85 MP for a two-word spell, 300 MP for a three-word spell, 345 MP for a four-word spell, 380MP for a five-word spell, 410 MP for a six-word spell, 700 MP for a seven-word spell and 1, 000MP for a nine-word spell.
• Feeding Guides - Guides like Map Guide, Tourist Guides and so on like eating. They only feed on MP.
• Quests - while finding the right place, you need to pay MP for each post

SIGNIFICANCE OF MERITS

• Submitting NPCs - you need to pay when you wish to submit an NPC or your double character.
• Taming Pokèmon - depending on your MP, you can tame your Pokèmon well
• Meeting Key Characters - meeting Key Characters depend on your MP. High MP will enable you to meet very important Key Characters (mostly Secret Key Characters) that would trigger events.

EARNING MERIT POINTS

• Releasing your Pokèmon. You contribute to the population so you earn a lot of MP.
• Posting. 3 MP are earned by simple posting and so not all forums get to increase your Post Count. Only in the Announcements, Member Support, RPG, OZ Classroom, OZ Chatroom (minus Forum games) and Suggestions and Feedback.
• Doing work. For members especially when they work (Member Support) they earn MP
• Being good. The Staff can reward you MP.
• DOING Quests give you a good deal of MP depending on the result
• Participating in certain site/board activities - you should see me giving out already.
• Doing things in MoAC - planting, mailing, battling--they now have an equivalent MP point than just the extra MP you get by posting
• RPing great. If the mod thinks you're RPing very well and being helpful, you are rewarded.
• Being a Fate/Muse – you are given MP when you apply. Quite high.
• Participating in Contests – participating—win or lose.
• Pokedex - you earn MP by capturing Pokèmon and from the Pokèmon you registered. When you request for an Evaluation, you will be rewarded.
