in short, yes, it is awesome.
At first I thought it would just be tamogotchi on crack, but after playing it, I really got to like it. Those dogs are freakin' awesome.

Well this topic can stay here since this forum is the equivalent of video game off-topic. But I'll move it for you.
Any way, I got the chihuahua and friends version of Nintendogs. I have a girl sheltie and boy chihuahua. The game surprisingly has a lot of depth and it takes a while to do all the things you want to do with your nintendog. It also has the best 3D graphics in any DS game I've played so far, you'll be amazed to see how good and surprisingly detailed your nintendog looks. It's so far my 2nd favorite game on the DS(second after Kirby Canvas Curse) and I recommend it to any one that has a soft spot for animals.
BTW, TLD what dog or dogs do you have so far?

well, I have a girl Beagle named Snap, but I was just testing the game.
I'll actually start playing (seriously) tomorrow...
okay, I got my dogs now!
I have two huskies!
a girl named Snow and a boy named Buck

How many dogs can you pick from? Also can you walk you dog around town and see other dogs other people have?

well, there are three different versions, each with different starting selections. However, all breeds become unlockable in the game.
and yes, you can take your dog(s) on a walk.
and yes, you can see other people's dogs when you bring your DSs near eachother. Your dog will interact with theirs and you can talk to eachother.
it's really fun ;)
