Match results:

Carnage Crew over Ring Crew Express with a Splash Mountain Neckbreaker off the top through a table in what reported as a street fight style gorefest.

ROH Tag Team Titles:
BJ Whitmer and Jimmy Jacobs defeated The Embassy (Jimmy Rave and Fast Eddie with Prince Nana)

Lacey defeated Cindy Rogers

ROH Pure Title:
Samoa Joe defeated Colt Cabana by submission (armbar).

AJ Styles defeated "mystery opponent" Petey Williams.

Styles got the predicted loud welcome back reaction.

Post-match, the Embassy hit the ring with Jade Chung getting in a nut shot on Styles, followed by Jimmy Rave hitting a Rave Clash, followed by Petey Williams hitting a Canadian Destroyer, leaving Styles laying.

Generation Next defeated Laceys Angels kick off the second half, Jack Evans did a springboard 630 to the outside

Nigel McGuinness won the four corners match over Homicide, James Gibson, and Azriel, pinning James Gibson. Sick moves of the match included Evans's latest death and gravity defying move, a springboard 630 to the outside, as well as Deranged and Izzy hitting a Road Warriors-style doomsday device, then taken into an ace crusher.

Low Ki (with Julius Smokes) and Jay Lethal went to a no contest after Lethal hit his flipping Dragon suplex...and Julius Smokes broke up the pin for the DQ finish

CM Punk defeated Austin Aries to become the new ROH World Heavyweight Champion after a Pepsi Plunge.

Punk controlled the match early, until Aries nailed Punk with a Death Valley Driver onto the apron. Aries then took control of the match, turning the live crowd into booing every move by Aries, and popping for every move by Punk. Aries hit Punk with a top rope brainbuster and a 450, which Punk countered into an Anaconda Vice. Aries even hit a Pepsi Plunge of his own, in which Punk kicked out at one. Punk nailed a finishing sequence of a TKO, shining wizard and the Pepsi Plunge that led to the pinfall.

Punk's post-match promo will start speculation flying as Punk then heeled out on the crowd, with the story of the man who brings a snake back to life only to be bitten. Punk then said "the greatest feat the Devil ever accomplished was making man forget he existed...and declared that he was the Devil himself"...and then did his heel "I'm better than you" rap; mocking the fans for their support over the last 12 months.

Punk then prepared to walk out with the belt, saying that the ROH belt was the most important title in the world and he was taking it with him, and that there was nothing anyone in the locker room could do about it.

Cue Christopher Daniels as a surprise coming through the crowd.

Christopher Daniels came in and challenged CM Punk to an impromptu title match. Punk agreed, then grabbed the belt and ran out through the crowd, complete with Gabe Sapolsky running after him in a "this isn't supposed to happen" moment screaming, "He stole the f@$#$ing belt!"

Ring Of Honor returns to Morristown, NJ on August 20, which will also be the New Jersey return of Christopher Daniels. Prior to that, ROH will debut in Long Island on July 8, return to Manhattan on July 9, and return to Philadelphia on July 23.

Nobody quite knows what to think. Some are saying that it was all a work, and that CM Punk never signed with WWE and will stay in RoH. Others believe he will drop the title before going to WWE, and some feel he will show up in WWE with the RoH title, declaring it the only title that matters in wrestling and so forth.

All I can say is it's going to be interesting to see how this plays out. I usually can't stand RoH and it's "If you're intelligent you will like us" approach to wrestling...but this has me interested

Harbinger Of Stuff - June 19, 2005 08:26 PM (GMT)
Yeah, I can't wait to see how this plays out.

Hotlanta - June 20, 2005 04:09 AM (GMT)
Personally, I don't see C.M. Punk going to WWE. Period. Congratulations on him winning the ROH Title and all, but it will probably turn out to be one hell of a heel turn and a cheap shot at the title by having a London-esque send off.

The Extreme - June 20, 2005 05:31 AM (GMT)
Maybe....WWE secretly BOUGHT ROH behind everyone's back! :icon_eek:

Busaliger Dragon - June 20, 2005 08:02 AM (GMT)
I wouldn't be surprized if the WWE did buy out ROH. <_<

Burning Spirit - June 26, 2005 06:59 AM (GMT)
Punk should never have signed with WWE...

As is he'll have his quickie run in which he'll lose the title in his first defense. Sad really...

NnyCW - July 20, 2005 04:15 AM (GMT)
I have to say, as they've done it thus far, has been one good storyline for RoH. You simply never know when Punk will finally lose the title and just simply disappear to go to the WWE. Will be sad to finally see Punk leave though, seeing as he was one of the best things about RoH.

personaljesus - July 21, 2005 03:27 AM (GMT)
CM PUnk is a fucking genius by making the fans look really stupid to rally around him

NnyCW - July 21, 2005 12:33 PM (GMT)
Exactly, CM Punk is playing his "Championship Material" heel role almost flawlessly. One of the highlights has to be him signing the WWE contract in the middle of the RoH ring, right on the RoH Championship belt. There's just no way you can cheer him after that one.

personaljesus - July 21, 2005 07:41 PM (GMT)
NOw He comes out to cult of personality by living colour
thats awesome and hes playing the outsmarting heel pretty well

Henne - July 22, 2005 11:33 PM (GMT)
My guess on this is, that Punk is gonna drop the title to Daniels tomorrow/today.

Funky Monkey - July 24, 2005 02:53 AM (GMT)
You guys want resulls from tonite? 1 moment....

Mikilama - July 25, 2005 03:24 PM (GMT)
I will break the tv is i see punk losing to rosie on raw

burrito - July 25, 2005 05:27 PM (GMT)
Haha, Rosie...but there's a decent chance that he'll end up another Haas or London, considering his WWE career would depend on the writers, and those writers aren't doing so well.
