Title: Speaking of backyarding...
Description: Well it SAYS in the sub description...

Does anyone here backyard wrestle? Whether it be in a garbage fed or a wrestling fed is there anyone else here who participates in it?
I personally co-run a fed called NGW (Next Gereation Wrestling). We focus on Pure wrestling and offer a stiff, mat based alternative to standard backyard fare. We (try to) put on weekly half hour shows with hour long supercards once per month. All the veterans have been wrestling at a by level for 3 years or more. I personally have been wrestling for 6 now. Two of us have been advised to train with Scott D'Amore when we're ready BY Scott D'Amore. One of us has attended a training session with Rob Fuego. Profiles and possibly media shall follow if there's interest.

I definitely request some videos, preferably just a match or two because I've never heard of a decent backyard fed.
As for me, when I was in my pre-teens, I wrestled in my living room with my pillows.
I did elbow drops from the sofa.
That counts, right?

Having been to Wrestling Schools and actually trained in a Pro Wrestling ring...I am firmly against Backyard Wrestling, in any form.
It is just too dangerous. One wrong move (and when you're a backyard wrestler who doesn't know what he;s doing, a wrong move is very easy to achieve) and you could not only severely injure someone, but you could ruin the rest of their lives, or kill them.
Another thing is...backyarders are harder to train in Wrestling Schools. So, these days...if you have any aspirations to become a Pro Wrestler, you should avoid at all costs. Most teachers hate them, because they develop bad habbits in their yard tard days that can be very difficult to correct....even the simply things like the way they fall, and the way they get up.
...that's just my view on it anyway. Continue as you were...

I am very much aware of the dangers of yarding but it's the only way I can do what I enjoy at the moment. To be fair we don't use the yard-tard style. We focus on technical wrestling and have a varied product. Quick stats on our top 4 guys. I wrestle as Brad Payne 'natch.
Kai Anarchy
6'1 215 lbs
Finishers: A Crusher (Diamond Cutter), Black Tangled Heart (Twist of Fate), Anarchy 88 (TKO)
Other signature moves: Gore, Pumphandle Backbreaker, No Leaf Clover (any variant of a Texas Cloverleaf), Straightjacket DDT, Axe Kick, Enziguri
- NGW Champion
- Best all round wrestler in NGW
- Uses a very NOAH Big move style with bigger and bigger moves building towards a finish.
- Can also wrestle well and once had a 15 minute chain wrestling match with Brad Payne.
- Top bumper in NGW having been dropped on his head almost as many times as Misawa.
- Co-owner/booker of NGW
Brad Payne
6'8 225 lbs.
Finishers: Crossface, Crossface II (Border City Stretch), Lariat, End of Days (Emerald Fusion)
Other signature moves: Black Thunder (Blue Thunder Backbreaker), Diving Powerbomb, Reverse Arm Clutch, Chokeslam
- Final man eliminated in three way tournament final for NGW title.
- Best technical wrestler in NGW
- Has the best grasp of storytelling and psychology in the fed.
- Uses size to create a fine mixture of power, technical, and stiff wrestling styles. Can also brawl with the best of them.
- Uses all crossface variants to win matches and often creates painful submissions on the fly to wear down opponents.
- Has faced the most varied opposition in NGW. Holds the most wins of any competitor.
- 6 years of backyard experience.
- Co-owner/booker of NGW
Fantastic Fitz
6'0 275 lbs.
Finishers: Fantasticplex (Fisherman's Suplex), El Fantasmo (Musclebuster), Angel's Wings, Death Valley Driver
Other signature moves: Fantastic Four (Rolling suplex combo)
- Commissioner of NGW
- First man eliminated in three way dance for NGW title. Still earned a spot there with a win earlier.
- Uses a combination of big moves and blatant cheating to win matches.
- While he uses some finishers with some regularity he will use any power move to win a match.
- In spite of size, takes some of the best bumps in NGW having been dropped on his head many times.
Boomer Matthews
5'9 150 lbs.
Finishers: Guillotine Choke and any other choke variants
Other Signature Moves: Boomers and Mashed (3 punch combo) Martial Arts Kicks, Shining Wizard, Sickle Lock
- One of the founding members of NGW.
- Stiffest worker in the promotion
- Uses stiff kicks and painful submissions to wear opponents down to a point where he can choke them out
- Was eliminated first round in the NGW Title tournament but not before putting on a great match with eventual winner Kai Anarchy
- Was involved in the stiffest match in backyard history with Brad Payne
- Along with Payne, has the best grasp of storytelling and psychology in the fed.

I do, and its like yours pretty much. I also train in a wreslting school. And I am the best of the new guys in the class. I backyarded before I joined, and i have very good understand how to do stuff the right way. Im refered to my some of my class mates as Mike Quakenbush Jr. as I could probably train myself, and do just fine. I enjoy both, training and backyarding, the only difference with me is, in one, the ring has ropes. I wrestle just like I do in school in my and others BYs, we mostly practice what we learn, and dont do stupid stuff, we dont try moves we dont study, and Now, I can do damn near anymove i want to. Overall, the Backyarding I did, helped me to excell at pro wrestling. However, this is not true for all, ther is a guy in my class who backyarded before, and stopped, he second guesses everything and is terrible, I think from backyarding. If you dont know what your doing, and arent careful, and know when its right for you and wrong, backyarding can be bad. But If your wise and careful, and care about stuff, it can be an asset.
