Title: Contest?

sondheimfan - June 12, 2008 09:36 PM (GMT)
I was wondering what happened with the suggestion for a musical competition? I'm trusting the prize isn't tickets for The Producers anymore!
Thanks.

Actually i was wondering about that too. I happened to be listening to the older episodes and all of a sudden the contest disappeared.

yeah I wondered that too...not been listening to these podcasts for that long so catching up on all the early ones...

Does anyone else secretly think the earlier ones were more fun? I loved the chats between Nick & Andy (where is he? miss him!!) it's all got a bit serious and cynical these days, and certain presenters don't actually seem to like any musicals very much! Sort it Nick!!

the older ones were more fun, definately, but these new ones are way more informative...perhaps you should search for a happy medium

The older shows may be more entertaining (Andy and I had a great rapport but he is now living further away than he used to when he and I started MusicalTalk and is working a lot during the day).

I have to disagree and say we're still pretty fun (we're just a podcast after all... have you heard Episode 75?) but we do try to stay on topic as we have to talk about musicals... considering that's what we do. I don't bring presenters on who don't like musicals, as that would be pointless. However, we do try to have a group of presenters who like certain types of shows so we can have a balanced opinion within discussions. Sadly, there aren't people in the bitchy world of musical theatre that like every kind of show.

However, more so than anything, this is a place for a group of friends to get together and chat about what they love :)

I actually prefer the more recent episodes, as I find them a lot more informative and a larger area can now be discuused with the many contributors.

true that.

I'm not saying the new ones aren't good...they are, really.

Oh don't get me wrong,I'm still a big fan of the podcasts, download every episode etc etc but the early ones remain my faves - I'm all for information & content too, but with the fun-ness & random-ness of the early ones!

And anyway, whatever did happen to the contest?!!
