i know that this show is closing soon, but i have just got back from the mat show with mixed feelings...

the set was very good, i loved the way it moved it was very clever and kept the story flowing, the lighting was also very effective. the acting was first class from the whole copany and ruthie proved herself a very capable actress. one of the mian actor was a spitter and managed to soak the MD and other members of the company! the problem came with the singing, the cast sang very well togehter, and the main cast sang very well, however i was in the middle of the secong row of the stalls with nobody infront of me and i could barely hear ruthie, when she was speaking her voice sounded a bit rough but her singing was very weak, particualy with the higher notes, i wanted her to have this huge voice that i know she has, but her voice just seemed tired, however this didnt affect her acting and she really trew herself into the bruttle second act.

the show is good, but i dont think that it appeals to younger people and the majority of the audience were over 60! but do try to catch it before it closes, i got cheap tickets of the website and had fantastic seats.

In regards to Ruthie's voice - that's just how it is I think. I went to one of the early on performances and had exactly the same feelings about it. I was in row 8 of the stalls and was having trouble hearing her.
