My dads gelding is for sale! He is a 4 year old Thoroughbred gelding who never knew he was a stud=Great! He is not your typical flighty TB. He is CALM! My dad is not good on a horse, and likes to walk on the trail. Apache was great at that. He can take the lead or follow up in the rear. But if an experienced person rides him, he speeds up and lopes along on the trail rides too.
I am sure he has potential for many other things, but we mostly trail ride and have too many horses to ride. I would love to keep him, but I can't ride 3 at once. We went on a wonderful ride in April. Had no problems. He did better than my seasoned 6 year old mare! She has been to many trail rides.
We have had him since he was 2 and he really hasn't been rode over 50 times since then, but keeps his manners. He is well cared for. Wormed every 6 weeks on a rotation and the farrier comes on schedule. We have them timmed in a natural style which works well with the pasture trail riding we do. He has been shoe-d 3 times for trail rides we go on and does well for the farrier.
He is a bay with the black mane and tail and black legs. Would be a dark bay if kept stabled, but we let them roam in the pasture. Not the alpha in the pasture, but not at the bottom. He is over 15 hands tall (closer to 16 I believe, but can measure if interested. I will post pictures this weekend.
I am located in Calhoun County, MS but attend college at MSU (I go home on weekends to the horses). I can be reached at 662-414-0306 (after 5 preferably because of classes and work). He is $1000, but I will consider offers to the right person.
I will state that he is not for a beginner, but great for someone who has rode before (More than the odd one or 2 rides a year on guided rides or something. He is a sweet boy!
Welcome to Ms-Equine :)
Any questions, just holler.
I'll echo Joey's welcome! Glad to have you here. I'll be calling you about that horse. I'm shopping. I live just out of New Albany.
I'd love to see pics.

I enjoyed talking with you Christen, and I look forward to meeting you next weekend. Apache sounds like a dream. :)

Edit to correct name spelling...
Hello everyone. I managed to find some batteries and take a few pics of Apache. Here is one of them. Keep in mind that it was very hot and muggy today (8/13) and also my crazy dog wanted at least his head in the picture!)
He looks nice, Christen. Thanks for posting the pic and thanks for emailing me. I'll be in touch this week.
