Title: Arabian trail horse needs home

I have a 17 yr. old reg. Polish Arabian mare that needs an experienced rider. She has 14 years training in dressage and endurance, and has a passion for fast, challenging trail riding. She is in wonderful condition, but I can not take her with me when I move at the end of this year. I was planning to breed her to my Trakhener stallion, and would include a free breeding with purchase. If interested, please contact me at (405) 742-7445. I live in Columbus, MS.

Try checking out Gina's ad. Since we are in Mississippi, it shouldn't be too hard, just a drive away.

Also, what's the price for your mare ???

I am asking $2500 for her, but I may cut a deal for an exceptional owner. This horse is very dear to me, and I want to make sure she goes to someone who will ride her often and give her a lot of attention. She is from pure Polish bloodlines: her sire is SM Korvette (black), and her dam is SM Twenty Grand (grey). I will be happy to provide photos and a full pedigree for anyone interested. All shots and coggins are current

Audrey,

I would probably be your exceptional owner. I am currently searching for a horse, and just traveled over 1200 miles to see one. Since Feb or Mar I have researched every aspect of horse ownership and I do plan to be an owner who provides excellent care. Including the best pasture, best hay and feed as recommended by a qualified vet (of which I've finally secured), best fitting saddle and bit, etc. The farrier is still questionable as I will need one that is willing to work with me and my horse and I do not yet have a horse!

I have always loved the Arabians and am considering purchase of a 5 y/o at this time. I am now in an empty nest and will be spending a good bit of time doing groundwork and riding just for pleasure and training with plans to trail ride eventually. I attended Clinton Anderson's show in Tunica last weekend and want to put his methods and techniques into practice.

I've ridden all my life, barrel raced in my teenage years, owned two horses about 18 years ago and a Shetland pony when I was very very young. Many of the owners I've been in contact with lately do not impress me much and I plan to promote responsible horsewomanship. I've always been different and marched to my own drum so this will be nothing unusual! My horse will be loved and cared for beyond most's expectations. And impressive, from what I've seen lately, many are not even aware of what their horses are actually capable of.

But I don't know if I want a 17 y/o. My thinking now is that I prefer a younger horse, probably 5-8 years old. But my search is getting very discouraging at this point and my thinking is subject to change with each horse that I go see.

Warmly,
WldHrt

Wldhrt,

I haven't checked the message board in a while, so I just received your note. I found wonderful pastureland nearby where I am able to board both my mare and stallion, so I no longer need to sell the mare. I just had her vet checked today, and the vet was very impressed with her condition, considering her age. I attribute this to the years of dressage and endurance training.

I appreciate your warm letter, and I hope you find the young Arab you desire. Sadly, I run into so many Arabs that are rejected by their owners b/c the particular person doesn't understand the psychology of Arabs.

I have had Arabs forever (Polish Arabs, which are quite different), and have been constantly amazed at their wide range of talents and versatility. There are always exceptions, but in general, I find this breed to be very smart, very willing, and extremely trainable. Good luck in your search!

Audrey

Hi wldhrt,
I have seven Arabians that I have to sell due to Katrina and other factors. They range from 5-16 years old, mares and geldings, priced from $1,500 to $6,500. If you want more info, I'd be glad to email pics, etc.

I am a close friend of Wldhrt. She recently purchased her horse. I'll pass your messages on to her. :D
