I'm looking for a kid safe pony for my 4 year old. She is relatively unexperienced, she has been riding with me on my horse and riding while I lead her. She has had a few riding lessons as well. If any of you know of a good trainer in the Rankin Co. area who is willing to give lessons to a 4 1/2 year old, let me know. We need a new trainer too.

She will need pony that will allow her to learn to groom him/her, ride, lead, feed and give her experience with caring for/owning a horse. At present, we don't show or anything, just need a good pony that will follow my horse on trail rides. If any of you know of any, please let me know.

to the forum Skhedrick, I wish you luck in your search. I think it's great you're teaching your 4 1/2 year old the ins & outs of horseownership with hands on learning!! We have many members who'll be able to help you out!!

HARRIS hEIGHTS? Ashley? My daughter is Kara, she took riding lessons with you before a year or so ago, while you were still buildng your barn. We had time conflicts while you were still building.

Yeah this is Ashley, the barn is finished. You need to take a look at the website and see the place. I would love to start up lessons again. We only do privates though for a child that young. are you looking for a big horse or a pony or something inbetween ? i have a 39 inch tall gelding that about 7 or 8 years old i bought this horse over a year ago for my son who was riding 1 of our minis in the show as a next step up in size for him and he rode it around the barn 2 times got off pulled his saddle and put it back on the stud he was riding and said i dont like it and im not riding it when i bought it there was a litte 5 year old girl riding it with her parents riding big horses on trail rides they said i never saw it on a trail ride but i did see her ride it if you think this is something of interest to you i want 500.00 for him i can email you pics if you would like if youll send me a email address i also have some weanling minis for sale your child couldnt ride them but they could be used to teach them the resposibility aspect
