Title: Free Horse #2

Joey - August 3, 2007 06:37 PM (GMT)
7 or 8yo Mustang sorrel mare.
Execellent ground manners.
Was riding until one day she decided she didn't want to anymore and now, won't let anyone ride her (this is what the trainer told us).
UTD on shots/worming.
She'll trim her own feet.
14h but built stout, could carry a large rider.

Good home a must, references a plus.

Jeannie, how's Babe settling in?

lovepaints - August 8, 2007 12:49 PM (GMT)
She has settled in really nice....Took her to Cowboy friends house in Pelahatchie, he has an AWESOME place.. She loaded really easy and the ride home was uneventful... getting off the trailer was another story, he was pushing and I was pulling but FINALLY she stepped out... She's now in a huge 40 x 40 foaling stall that opens up to a nice paddock... Keeping her there till she gets used to all that grass then we will introduce her to the herd.... Farrier came out yesterday she stood very well for her front feet, but she def. knows how to use those back feet!!!LOL Farrier was testing her before he picked em up and it's a good thing he did!!!! But she eventually let him trim those up also...Gonna go back out this weekend and start working with her, guess cowboy friend is gonna have a rodeo!!!LOL If anybody can ride her it will be him!!!

Thanks alot Joey... I'll let you know how this weekend goes.

Hey Joey,,,

No Babe was not really bad for the farrier, she stood perfect for the front but when he went to the back he took his rasp and ran it down her hocks, we'll she kicked at him and he just kept fooling with her and she finally figured out he ment no harm and stood still (cant blame her, she's in a new place with all new people that might just wanna eat her!!!LOL).... He (farrier) was just being cautious sense we really didnt know how she would react.... cant wait till this weekend.. I'm gonna get lots and lots of pics of Cowboy friend riding her!!!! I'll post em for everybody to see.

BTW thanks alot, we reallly do like her she's super sweet, and let your brother in law know she's in a great place and being well taken care of.

She is sweet. :)
I watched her trot in the round pen, and she moves on out. Lots of extension.
Made me think of those whatchacallit horses.

I think she's going to be a wonderful trailhorse one day. :)
