Title: Free horse

Joey - August 2, 2007 10:38 PM (GMT)
Steph, if you want Rusty, call me quick.

Free Arabian.
Good home a must, references are a plus.
Purebred Arabian gelding. 7 years old.
Bay. UTD on shots and wormer.
Rides, some natural horsemanship training (could use some more).
Rusty has a lot of spirit, loves to prance.
He rides but has been known to buck (twice that I know of).

For the last couple of years he's been a pasture ornament and he needs a home that will use him. But, a pasture pet will work too, as long as it's a good home.

Loads easy and good for farrier.

This horse isn't registered, but is a son of Tammen.
Every son of Tammen i've ever heard of sold for 4k and up, broke or not.
This horse belongs to my brother in law and he was going to send him to the auction, but I talked him out of it, hoping to find a good home.
He needs to go somewhere in the next day or so.

Thank God!! I wasn't gonna let him go to auction. That just couldn't happen. Let me know if I need to take him at any point, you know I will. I love that horse. Brandi is going to get a colt to train, and then give to her mom, so he'll be here for about 14 months or so. I worry about evacuation planning. I worry about having more horses than I've got horse trailer. So if something happens, I can get them outa here. Need a bigger trailer I guess huh? Or maybe just a couple more and more trucks!!

I am going to go up and get him in the morning (well before dinner). Steph, trust me.. he will not be going to an auction!! I had thought about helping my friend buy him at one point but I had all that other going on. Kids are going back to school.. I dont work.. my friend and I are going to work with him. My evacuation plans have been in effect since Katrina came through... one reason we sold our 2 horse and bought a bigger trailer. You never really think of that until its to late. We were lucky when Katrina came through.. we actually boarded 2 horses from new orleans here for a few months. My husbands brother lost a house on the coast and his aunt had a house in new orleans.. but she just lost some of her roof. We boarded her saddle horses... the lady where she boards at actually dropped them off on her way to higher ground. She had 3 HUGE trailers, full of horses that she boarded. She said she wasn't about to leave them even though they weren't her's.. she was responsible for them. I thought that was very kind of her. But Steph.. you know you'd be the first one I called .. if ANYTHING came up!! :)

Thanks Mendy, I'm so glad Rusty is getting a good home. And you know the offer stands, if you need a place to store any for awhile, I'll be glad to help out. Very soon now my place is going to be whipped into shape and I'll be glad to offer refuge from any evacuating. I do have friends/neighbors I can call on to help in an emergency, but I will have to consider a bigger trailer at some point. I know it. Anyway you're gonna love Rusty. He's really great. Just do Clinton Anderson with him and he'll come around fast I think. Ours are, Giz and Mitzi were getting real pushy and they are so lazy, but they are improving every day. Just takes the time and effort from us. I'd thought of getting Rusty for my boarder too, cuz she thought it'd be awhile before she'd be riding her mare. That's coming along real fast, but she was given a yearling colt that she wants to train for her mother. And I just didn't want to overload all of us with farrier, feed, hay, vaccination and deworming expenses before we even get up and running. But I'd have cut something out and took him before I let him go to auction. He's a WONDERFUL guy, you'll love him.
