"Tequila Sunrise" is a 16 year old mare (17 in January) that has "been there, done that." She is mainly used as a once-in-a-while trail horse but in the past was used for Pony Club and did Hunter/Jumper work. Goes both English and Western, neck reins, good on trails (some but very little spook), crosses water. She has nice, smooth gaits and is a great ride. She's the horse you don't have to think about riding--she's very consistent. She is very cooperative and always does what is asked of her, but she's an aloof type of horse. Human affection is fine for her, but being in the pasture with horses is also fine. She does have some abuse issues from her past and cannot be worked in a round pen--she can be ridden in one, but if you turn her loose and try to work her, she gets extremely frightened. She can be lunged, however, in a controlled environment...read that as whip-free. She has been ridden by children, has been used for occassional lessons and did great. At this time, however, I would prefer to see her go to an adult female with a small to average build...

Recently Tequila has had some issues with her hip. It popped out over the summer and a chiropractor came out and popped it back in. He anticipated the adjustment would last one month but it lasted three. It has now been 5 weeks since her second adjustment and she's holding steady. She is on a glucosamine supplement that I would encourage a new owner to keep in place. She has been ridden very minimally (by my choice, vet said go ahead and ride her) since her hip issues have arisen (I'm not the skinniest person in the world and don't want to do any harm) but she was lunged today and is moving great. Tequila is UTD on all cares, farrier, worming, vaccines, coggins, and teeth were floated 11-10-06. For sale to good, approved home only, and I will be particular with this girl as I've had her for a very long time and she is near and dear to my heart like none other. Asking $1750.
