I was wondering about how to get more members, and I was thinking maybe we should try offer something on the side as well as out wonderful forum?

The thing is I wasn't sure what...graphics design was a possibility, among many others, but input would be VERY appreciated.

There could be various types rotated at once I suppose, but its a matter of coming to a decision.

Don't get me wrong, that'll hopefully grow with time but I just didn't want to make a load of forums that'd be left practically empty.

Radio isn't a bad idea actually...

But the rotation could be bi-weekly or weekly upload of a song to the forum which could play in the background if you wanted. Or simply something to download.

As for the graphics forums suggestion, we need to gather more people before we do that. o_o;

Well I don't know if any of you people frequently go to mp3 rotation sites but for me it never kills the loading time and my internet isn't the greatest.

Maybe.. a main page with that on it and then you can click a thingy and get directed to here? ..or the other way around ofcourse..

I want to know too. Because I'm basically browsing this while playing games. And if there's too much to load, it'll basically lag me to death, which isn't very preferable. o.o

But other than that, it sounds okay. Of course, I've never experienced KAF radio, so can't say how it'll go. o_O

If you want to get more members, you got to establish a sort of.... theme for the forum. No offense, but I have no clue what the theme of this forum is. Just randomness to me.

GFX? Anime? MP3s? General?

You also got to back up the theme. Meaning, if you're going for GFX then you need to post up some resources. If you are going for Anime, you'll need lots of links and places to talk about anime. If you're going for MP3's, then you'll need a huge library created by contributions from the members. For a general forum, you'll need a good balance of the above.

In any event, it's time we started contributing!

Well, at the moment it is just randomness.

The point of this topic is (or at least was supposed to be) to help decide what this forum will eventually become...aside from an eventually abandoned mess.

Right now GFX is the most likely. You'll just need some members to take the time to contribute and put up some tutorials and other resources.

I agree that graphics is most likely (despises the term GFX) since it's the option I'm more actively involved in, thus more likely to stay alive.

It's easier said than done though, since most here don't write tutorials nor are willing to judging from posts, and the only way to advertise is by word of mouth since most graphics or arts based forums don't allow advertising of any form...

The most elitist of forums are actually near impossible to find with minimal member numbers *doesn't know how they survive* though I suppose thats besides the point.

Pluuuuuuus...I wonder how many people here have others who would be interested, let alone willing to join. But the idea is great if you put that problem aside.

Let's make a little banner for this site first off. Do we have a symbol of sorts we could put on it?

Nope, not an official one.

I could MAKE one, but right now I suppose our unofficial mascot is Spike from Cowboy Bebop <3 who would work just as well for a temporary thing.

Spike could work, but finding a good picture of him that wouldn't take up too much space on the banner might be difficult.

I have plenty of good pictures of Spike, and I also have a couple of friends who would join the graphics forum.

The problem of using an anime character on a banner is that if it is shrunk too much, then the character becomes unrecognizable. That why it tends to be easier to use a symbol or just the name of the place on a banner.

Well, seeing as the size of the current banner is fairly large, I don't think we will have that problem.
