Garion stood tall as he watched the body of his mother placed upon one of the funneral pyres and the body of Akia on the second. It took a week to convence the priests and the people that yes indeed this was their Empress. Yes she was killed and no there was no way for her to return to life. As was her wishes, her organs were removed and placed upon the pyre with her. This was a tradition of her clan to destory the organs that were needed to survive when one died just as it was a tradition for Romans to burn their dead.

Garon wrapped his arm around his wife as she cried, weeping for her mother in law who she grew to love. Garion glanced at his sister in law who was standing tall for her two daughters and son. Dreys... was severly injured and unable to attend the funneral. Human magic and healing would not work on the wounds he had. The dragonic healers were not very hopeful for their Celestial Ruler.

There was much crying and much despair as the fire on the pyre was lit after the head priest said his piece about the Empress. Garion watched as the body burnt a bright white, the hottest a flame could go. His cousin's words still echoed through his head. ~Kio... what did you mean?~ He thought with a small gulp and swallow as he tried to keep standing as he watched the pyre with Akia's body set on fire as well. Her ashes would be spread out across the ocean, carried out as far as they could.

It was early nightfall before the fires stopped burning, the dragon's body taking much longer than a human one would. Garion watched as the ashes of his mother and Akia were gathered and set in urns. Akia's urn was handed to him so he could do the honors while his mothers were placed in the crypt, next to his 'father's' ashes. Once it was sealed again, the crowd started to dispurse.

Garion watched as the ashes of the departed siren floated out to sea. He sighed heavely and sat down ont eh docks not caring if anyone saw him at the moment. "There was nothing you could have done to prevent it." Set said as he gazed out over the moon lit waters. "At least, she got to tell you good bye. It's more than she was able to tell Sabriel and Rayku." A silence filled the air as the two black fire dragons stared out over the waters.
