Tidus was never dead. He was sent back to his own time at the end of Final Fantasy X. Remember. Final Fantasy X takes place what? 1,000 from Tidus' time.
As for FFX-2... One of the worst games I've actually played. It lacked everythinh X had, and X didn't have much to offer from the start. Only thing redeeming was the soundtrack.
