Just going by the score boards here, but the final was:

Flyers - 4
Islanders - 0


Not a very promising final score. Although the Flyers dress a few more regulars that the Islanders, I hate to see the team lay a goose egg.. even if in the pre-season.

I am curious to how Gordon responds in his next game..
Does he dress more regulars?
Does he stick to the evaluation of up and coming youngsters?


I am glad he won the first game vs the Bruins but we all know you can expect to win every game by 1 goal. Especially in the beefed up Atlantic division.

Ouch... good thing it was mostly sound tigers in there.. i won't let this one bother me though, the young guys need experience against seasoned vets.

Preseason is for experimentation. Preseason is to see what talents need evaluation. Preseason is for learning an entire new system under a brand new coach.

No need to worry...................................yet.

Lower your expectations. You will be much more happier you did. There is a process underway and it's a painful one. We can take joy in the progress of the young players.

The Flyers have been notorious for dominating the game play against us...even when they finished last they were a very tough win for us...This doesn't surprise me and it won't if we only take one game during our season series with them...
